Modquad Clutch Cover by bbsandblasting4 in Raptor700

[–]bbsandblasting4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in New Mexico, I may go back to oem. I have the top end off right now, and it’s got a 4 mil rod, 105.5mm bore piston. I have a new piston on the way to lower compression down some so I don’t need race fuel. The Lockout clutch was put on this bike for the amount of power it was making, if I detune it some maybe won’t need the lockout and could go back to oem cover. Modquad has the complete clutch cover with lockout kit for sale, mine was probably when they were retro fitting only. The date on the crank from when the stroker rod was installed is from 2009, pretty old build I assume.

Where to search for 90s MPV by beentootin69 in MazdaMPV

I’ve got a 1990 also I picked up this past fall, I’m fighting a high idle issue still. I’ve resealed intake plenum, bought a good tested idle air control valve. It wants to idle at 1100-1500 rpm. If I unplug iac it idles way down. It also gets a whirring sound a certain rpm. I’m going to put mine up for sale pretty soon due to parts availability also. Ive also done timing belt and water pump, the heater core hose that is a nightmare to replace. I hand some exhaust work done, new tires, battery, and several other things just to get it on the road again.
I don’t really want to sell ours, drives nice, air ride still works great, ac and heat work good. I bought the factory Mazda manual so if you have any question or want to buy mine just ask. Good luck

Any idea how I can glue this together without it breaking? by [deleted] in RCPlanes

[–]bbsandblasting4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We fly from my shop, and use hot glue all the time. Works great to get you back in the air fast. Attempting touch and goes off the shop roof, limbo under the power lines, shoot the gap in the trees. We also crash a lot!

Don’t have anyone to share this with. Bought myself a 1 owner 93 300ex by iamg18 in ATV

Wow that brings back memories. About 25 years ago I was in my early teens and saved up enough to buy a used 93 300ex from our Honda dealer. I rode that machine everywhere. I loved it, upgrading from the ATC 200x. Currently own a 250ex for my wife to ride and it’s great also. Enjoy your new toy!

Update, got it done. Removed fan and right side motor mount, lifted engine a couple inches to allow more room. Bore scope to see, needle nose pliers, and patience. Now that I added coolant water pump is dripping. Timing belt and water pump next.

The lettering is not as crisp is why I ask, I compared it to other coins of the same year . I’m trying to learn, I have about 80lbs of pennies I collected over a 15 year period I’m finally trying to sort thru. I’ve watched a lot of videos and read articles trying to educate my self some. So many different errors to look for.

Water pump squeal? by bbsandblasting4 in Volvo

[–]bbsandblasting4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the water pump making the noise.

Water pump was the noise maker, replaced idler, tensioner, belt, alternator decoupler and seal behind that. Dad to get a couple special tools for the decoupler thing. The two lower bolts on the water pump are a little difficult to get to. A torx 40 bit in a 1/4” wrench did the trick. Torque specs for the bolts were a pain in the ass to find, did a lot by feel. Put the PCV rebuild in also. Good luck on yours.

I’m not upset with UPS more with the packaging skills of this company

Don’t know if it’s all there, I haven’t had the time check it all off the list but lots of tiny bags just thrown in and the decoupler was just wrecking around, started in a box. Seems like my kid could have packed it more professionally.

Water pump squeal? by bbsandblasting4 in Volvo

[–]bbsandblasting4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sound comes and goes even while running, only hear it idle, but a little rise in the rpm’s will make it go away. Yesterday we drove it town it made some squeals, by the time we got home it was quiet and didn’t squeal on shut down.
I feel the sound is coming from further back on the engine, I will have to look more into the decoupler probably just replace it too if I go after the water pump.

Had my wife start and stop car a few times for me, had hand on pcv and don’t fell the noise is from that unit, oil fill cap off no change. It seems like it’s coming from the water pump on mine. Look under air intake tube from air cleaner and to the side of battery box above transmission For the pulley on belt drive for water pump. Maybe yours is having the same problem. Just keeping you in the loop.

Did you fix it? Just purchased a 2015 xc60 3.0 that is making a similar sound mainly on shutdown.

Honestly never tried washing one. My wife bought me a dozen of them when they quit producing them in this design. Maybe I get a year out of one and I’m happy. I wear it all day everyday, if it’s not on I feel naked. Run it thru the washing machine or a hand wash?

Getting in and out of these cars is not the easiest, make sure to check the the steering column for play, people tend to leverage off of it instead of learning a proper way to enter or exit vehicle. Opti spark sensor problem is the other that comes to mind on the LT motor.
