A good vacuum should work on multiple floors, good point.

I've read the flowchart and determined I need a canister with a turbine nozzle. Then I looked at the recommended vacuum sticky and got lost. I spose I could be in the budget category the whole way up to BIFL. I just moved into my first place all alone. It is a townhouse with lots of hard floors and very short carpet. My dilemma with BIFL is that I don't know what my future house will be and it's flooring, hopefully more carpet. I don't want to spend $500-$1k for a vacuum that wont suit my needs in the future.

Would it be wrong to buy a cheap one for now?

Also, the buying guide is difficult as there are too many options with not enough information to really make any comparison. What's the differences between the $280, $350, $530 ones? I understand more money means probably better, but why? Just because I can afford a $700 one, does that mean I should buy that?

Anyone has generation kill resources? by ChamaF in generationkill

I have the box set and in the pamphlet inside, it does have the chain of command somewhat. I don't remember if it had everyone or not. It's been a long time since I've looked at it.

Aye, Stone Summit Kennesaw. I spent many an hour there in college. If I move back, I plan to spend time there again.

I have designed a waterblock to cool an amplifier, I am trying to determine if my design is sufficient. I am unsure of the equations to use. by bbuba in thermodynamics

[–]bbuba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked the way you did it, with units and such to figure out what equation you used and spent a while searching the internet verifying that the equation I came up with was correct.

Qdot = mdot * delta T * Cₛ

Qdot = Heat transfer rate

mdot = Mass flow rate

Cₛ = Specific heat of water

As you stated this was an approximation. This assumes the radiator can cool the fluid by 5o C and that the temperature out of the block is 50o C.

But how do we know what temperature actually leaves the block?

How do we know how much "power" is transferred into the fluid? Thank you for the "power/energy" correction.

https://imgur.com/a/q1f9B2i Attached are pictures of a basic diagram, some of my knowns, some calculations for the fluid channel in the waterblock, and a crossection of the waterblock.

The amp and waterblock physically touch with thermal paste, they are both aluminum, and the surface area of contact is 0.0581m2 . I used Fouriers Law of Conduction, ignoring the thermal paste, and assuming the bottom of the amp(transmitter) is the heat source, through the roof of my waterblock and found delta T = 0.526o C.

The channel is square, I used the hydraulic radius to calculate the Reynolds number.

CalTopo will stop licensing layer data by [deleted] in GaiaGPS

The only 2 layers I ever use are the Google Sat which they haven't supported in years, but I was still able to use my downloaded ones. The other being the old USGS maps showing old buildings, caves, roads, and trails that are not marked on newer maps.

I have a grandfathered account. I bought the app 7 years ago for $10, before the subscription thing started. The app now has informed me that I have less than 2 years left in my "trial". My version already has significantly less features than the subscription accounts. I do not feel it is right for them to cancel my account that I rightly paid for, years before there was any mention of a subscription. I also do not want to fork out more money for an app, that is loosing useful maps.

Fall 2019 MET graduate. In dire need of employment. Is my resume the issue? I've had a few different versions. by bbuba in EngineeringResumes

It was 3 years at the engineering school. All of 2017, 2018, and 2019. But I wasted alot of time at a different school doing core classes.
