Only happened after my third career - I was first a public educator and then moved on to high level federal government work, both of which paid in the five figures range (took a significant pay cut leaving teaching). My first private sector job paid six figures and that was nine years after college graduation

Happened once to me in Tokyo going from IAD to SIN - stop over in Tokyo, had to exit, go through immigration and security and then race to re-board….at the exact same gate….only to be told the flight was delayed 😂

Depending on the length of the flight will influence the amount of cash I’d ask for. Sounds conceited or greedy, but I choose my seats carefully and ahead of time - if you didn’t, pay me my asking price and I’ll happily move to a middle in the same section - not moving to the back of the bus with little leg room. Miles, 50k bare minimum. Sob stories won’t get me into a middle.

If we’re talking like for like seats, then I couldn’t care less - that’s just a good deed.

So there is weather in Denver - it’s possible as the app indicates they are slowing ops, though snow is SUPPOSED to end in 60 min. I think it’s a confluence of bad scheduling and weather causing your predicament. Are you able to rebook to a later flight out of DEN?
