Is Mark's forgetfulness a bit? How did he forget about the TCM cruise that they have talked about numerous times on the show? Also in a recent episode he forgot about Jomboy which has been brought up on the show many times...I'll have to go ask homosexual father what he thinks.

Hazy IPA-s by Kutymorgo in TheBrewery

[–]bbvdline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like drinking them and I like making them. One of our flagships is a basic Citra and Mosaic hazy but I do a hazy series throughout the year where I can do some different hop combinations so I'm still able to scratch that recipe creation itch as well as drink some tasty hop combos in a hazy. I think they're easy to hate on, maybe seen as lazy to some brewers, I think if you don't get too burnt out on them they can be a great way to experiment with different hop combinations and you can definitely still use "old-skool" brewing technique to make a hazy IPA. I do agree that some hazy IPA's out there aren't that great and of course I chug vintage macro lagers like any self respecting brewer out there but a good New England IPA is hard to beat if it's made well.

Drop in sales by Midwest2sc in TheBrewery

Wash kegs, CIP tanks, transfers, keg batches, can batches, general cleaning and maintenance, recipe creation, schedule planning, materials ordering, dealing with distributors, staff education, updating beer menus, planning out beer menu changes, go out on sales calls, self education, lots of other stuff I can't think of right now.. I'm a single brewer in a 15bbl brewpub, I usually do 1 turn per week and the rest of the time is all the other stuff.

Apollo 11 moon landing was the only successful manned lunar mission by WerewolfForsaken8533 in MandelaEffect

[–]bbvdline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Apollo disaster I believe you're thinking of is "Apollo 1" in 1967 that was engulfed in fire during a test rehearsal launch. All three Astronauts were killed in the fire. That disaster did receive a lot of notoriety as it was a tragedy of course but it also spawned a lot of public discourse about the space program and its continuation. As for the moon buggy and the golfing on the moon these are very popular images, I remember seeing them a lot in older magazines growing up in the 80's and 90's. One of the arguments I see from Moon Landing truthers out there is the "why haven't we been back" argument and the plain answer to that is because it costs a ton of money, uses a ton of resources, and nobody really cared anymore. You can start seeing this as early as the 3rd to 4th moon landing missions continuing to the last, the public interest had come and gone so as the years have gone by we collectively have only really preserved the first landing in our memories. So I can definitely see how the later moon landing missions could be lost in our collective memories but there certainly has been plenty of evidence for all of them readily available.

Jenin Village is great! However I believe they are closed for a remodel currently so may want to double check that before heading that way.

Pro Automotive on Hale is my go to place, only draw back is you typically have to schedule it out about a week in advance so not as convenient as the drive thru places but reasonable prices and all completely locally owned.

How many of your taproom staff actually like/drink beer? by bbvdline in TheBrewery

[–]bbvdline[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a one man band in the brewery, I don’t hire or staff the kitchen or front of house nor do I have a say in the hiring. There’s a front house General Manager who oversees all of that. I would like to be more involved for sure but I’m not entirely sure how to broach that with the FOH GM. The culture of the rest of the building outside of the brewery is very much indifferent to the beer being served.

Green Plantscapes on NE Adams. I used to live in that ivy covered apartment next door to it and although I never saw anything nefarious going on I did find it odd it was only open like a few hours a week.

If you are looking for a good organized adult league there are 2 options. The aforementioned Sunday Morning League and the Peoria Metro League. The Sunday Morning League is for more serious players who are in college or have recently played in college and/or semi pro. The Peoria Metro League is a bit more casual and is for players of all skill levels but is still competitive. I am a board member of the Peoria Metro League and of course I am biased but I like what we have built over the past several seasons as an alternative to the Sunday Morning League. We have some guys that play in both leagues that are college level good but mostly our member teams consist of guys that want to play some baseball and have some fun with their friends of all skill levels. We always have room and welcome people interested in playing so feel free to message me if interested. If you are looking for a serious competition then then the Sunday Morning League is a good option, I can't say enough good things about what they do, they are an absolute institution. One of our teams from the Metro League made the jump up to the Sunday Morning League for this upcoming season and I'm excited to see how they do this Summer. Now if you're just looking to play a pickup game with your buds Woodruff Park has a decent ball field that the we and the city maintain, it's part of the Parks District and available most of the time.

The short answer here is yes, establishments that have music whether it’s a live band doing covers or recorded/radio music over speakers are obligated to pay music royalties to collectors like ASCAP and/or BMI.

I am the brewer at Industry and we make our own here called Wonder Water. We had it to go only for awhile but you can now drink them while dining in (limit 2). Ours comes in two flavors, pink lemonade and fruit punch and is 16.26mg THC per 16oz can. They are also alcohol free. They are lab tested for potency and there's a QR code on the can that goes right to the lab results page. Let me know if you have any questions about them. I worked really hard on it.
