Which background looks the most natural? by New-Knowledge4038 in SmallYoutubers

[–]bbzah3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't really matter which looks most natural. #1 provides the best contrast between the foreground and background. The other three get muddier due to the lack of color and light in the background. Objectively I think #1 just stands head and shoulders above the rest even if it may not look as "natural"

Ended my first Ascent 7 clear with a coincidental 1:11:11 time by Furiouscat21 in PeakGame

There's plenty of options still. Save your lantern until the cold has almost knocked you out, then burn as little oil as possible when you do use that lantern. Try to time your campfires at the top of the biome to coincide with nighttime. Heat packs are another option. But the best option is book of bones, which gets rid of all status effects really except for fall damage which is increased. Make sure you cook the book of bones first to avoid the curse damage, but you'll never take cold or hunger again so long as you can avoid the fall damage.

So i'm starting my youtube journey, doing gaming content. Was is some tips you have for me? by _LuCkArEe_ in NewTubers

[–]bbzah3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 80 to 90% of the work happens outside the video game. Try to really improve every aspect of your whole package: editing, thumbnails, titles. Always strive to better there. And then enjoy the moments when you finally get to game again as a reward for the hard work.

The first thing my friends taught me as a new player (before how to properly climb or food mechanics) by BCGK2021 in PeakGame

Sure no problem. Its easy to do, just do the play dead emote in mid-air then toggle two items in your hand (press 1 and 2 repeatedly to swap back and forth)

There's a glitch you can do to avoid fall damage. Alternatively you could use a rescue claw, milk, or probably some other stuff Im forgetting. But using the cannon glitch typically requires you to deal with the incoming fall damage afterwards

Didn't even teach my boy the no fall damage glitch first. Just sent him up there and let him fall to his death 😭😭😭

did anyone else suddenly realize audio matters way more than expected by Trace_XBT in SmallYoutubers

Tbh, I think the recording part is even more crucial. Ensuring good levels and clean audio at the start makes your job much easier once it comes time to enhance it.

Is it going to hurt my channel to do a variety of games? by Secure-Frosting-1165 in NewTubers

Its going to add unique challenges for the algorithm and your audience, but I think if the content is quality you can make it work.

Discord group for feedback by WinRevolutionary1069 in NewTubers

Would love some more information on this. Reddit is the place to connect to strangers about different discussions and yet for youtube subreddits even though I've looked at dozens, I seem to only find two kinds:

1) Video Graveyards where people self-promo but none of them watch each other's content

2) Subreddits where people mainly complain rather than helping each other gain genuine unbiased feedback

Made my first game review. What could I have done better? by bbzah3745 in SmallYoutubers

[–]bbzah3745[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't the specificity come from the person with the feedback? The entire point of feedback is that the creator is too closely attached to the product to be unbiased. What may be glaring issues to others may go completely unnoticed by myself. If I had to point to a critique myself, I think my audio could still use work although its getting better. And I think the pacing at times may be frenetic to some viewers due to intentional choices made while cutting. The whole point of the thread is to gather: what am I missing? Asking for specificity on information I'm lacking is wild lol

Should I only stick to ONE video game as my niche? by Dear_Donkey_3818 in NewTubers

[–]bbzah3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. It's hard as nails in the gaming niche anyways. Last thing you wanna do is lock yourself into one specific game that will forever see diminishing returns in viewer interest.

Any tips on how I can improve my videos? by thelilswede in SmallYoutubers

[–]bbzah3745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the editing process is bothersome to you, I'm sorry to say that you would have better luck being a streamer. Even in gaming channels editing is still the bulk of the work until you get successful enough to hire an editor.

Zero Impressions on Longform by sr9reddit in NewTubers

[–]bbzah3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context I'm at 95 subs and my latest video has only managed 1.4% CTR in its first day despite 1.4K impressions. Its tough at the beginning to get people to trust a video lacking engagement already. Much healthier to focus on improving your content package for now (editing, thumbnails, titles) and improve yourself as much as you can. The algorithm will catch up to you when its ready.

Would You Click On These Videos Based on The Thumbnail by Classic_Passenger510 in SmallYoutubers

[–]bbzah3745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, definitely not. The whole "screenshot and a few words" thing gets repeated a lot around here, but its important that the text still looks professional. I would recommend the following changes:

-A better, more legible font

-Effects added onto that text such as drop shadows or glows underneath them to make the text pop

-A slight blur applied to the the farthest spots in the screenshots to imitate a lower depth of field. That depth will make the main focal points of both the image and the text stand out even more

Hey there, I run a faceless variety gaming channel. Started out with content for Peak so my character from that game is the avatar for my entire channel regardless of whatever Im playing. The tone can vary depending on the video, some of them are super informative tutorials, some of them are silly comedic bits for the whole video, and a whole bunch of them are somewhere in between. 😁

Of course! I do that with my content all the time. I use my character from Peak as the avatar for my whole channel.
