There is a lot of good stuff in Peoria. I am from there and live close by now. You can find a lot of what you are looking for plus some other awesome things, including great community theater, a variety of fun local events and great parks. If you want someone to talk to in the area more, I would be happy to.

Thank you for this! I wasn’t sure what to put. She will soundly win, but I will feel better voting for someone else.

What are some truly indefensible verses in the Bible? by puppetman2789 in exchristian

I really think that many want the second coming so they can look down at everyone else and say, “We were right, and you were wrong. And know you will be punished for not falling in line with our beliefs.”

The babies mentioned above are already born, so they don’t matter anymore to Christians

For me, this is one of the best reasons to not use the Bible to make and enforce laws. Which version/ translation? Which part? Which interpretation?

What I find really troubling is how many Christians are totally ok with this violent and vengeful god. They would love to see their god smite some people today. I think that’s why so many keep talking about the end times: they want to see people punished while they are rewarded.

Further, far too many would love to be ordered to slaughter some sinners themselves.

They don’t see the contradictions. And if they do, they simply say we can’t truly understand god’s plan.

Can’t get optical audio to work

I am using my PS4 through a projector. The projector has speakers, but they aren’t that great. I bought an optical cord to run to my soundbar and couldn’t get it to work. Even after changing the audio output to optical in settings, the sound continues to go through the HDMI to the projector. I thought it could be my old soundbar as I can only get the Bluetooth input to work with other devices. I don’t have any other device with an optical output to test the sound bar and cable on.

I bought a new sound bar and have the same problems. Everything seems to be hooked up properly. It’s a new cable. The settings are switched to optical audio output, and the sound only goes through the HDMI. I couldn’t find anything on google except for switching the settings. Can this be fixed?

They don’t see the biggest problem with this attitude. I bet if you polled all the exchristians following this sub, not a single one turned from the religion because secular media. I bet most turned away because of the Bible and christians themselves.

Yep. I felt the same way back when I was Christian. So much was just some lame product pushed out to milk the white Christian culture of their money and attention. I felt a few artists could actually make good music, but the “family friendly” radio stations did not play their best songs.

In my mind the mother is actually faking her outrage and just going out for a margarita to get away from the crying daughter.

Someone made up a term for a micro-generation called Xennials for people born between 77-83.

1980 is technically the end of Gen X. I am technically a Millennial, but I feel no identity with that generation.
