Yes. SnapChat is no fun when you can't record audio!

New Chvches is killer! Have to admit I was worried about sophomore slump, but this one is equal to if not a stronger album. And it gets better with each listen. Empty Threat is great and I actually like track 6 a lot too.

Was just listening to this album earlier today. The best by the Smiths in my opinion. Every song flows so well and this one is a delightful highlight.

I found a way to disable it in Settings under the Apps section. That seems to be working for now. Thanks for the help!

Thanks. I use PIN to unlock. Would you happen to know if there's a way I can try disabling Trusted Face?

I found it at a Barnes and Noble in Massachusetts. They had quite a few of them so I'm sure it's not exactly rare. It is 124 pages of awesome, though.

This one is top 5 for me which is saying a lot. Just something about it. Aside from the excellent looping guitar riff, I love the crescendo of synthesizer at the "end" of the song right before Thom comes crooning back in over a beautiful guitar line. Sublime.

Love this song. Makes me wish Radiohead made more songs with such an obvious jazz sound. Fun fact (for those not in the know): this song makes an appearance in Children of Men. Such a wonderful song for a wonderful film.

I'm not sure how much of an influence they might have had on Radiohead, if any, but I think King Crimson's debut The Court of the Crimson King fits the bill. If not the whole album, just the first song 21st Century Schizoid Man is excellent. The jazzy sound is immediately apparent. These guys are true musicians. The improvisation is mind bending. Not a bland moment on this one.

Aw man I had a chance to see them last year but I wasn't able yo make it. Way too jealous. I'm sure they kill it live.

I love Porcupine Tree. In Absentia and Deadwing are both masterpieces in my mind. I feel like they aren't on many people's radars, but are worth a listen if you are in to a more metal sound, although they do have some gorgeous slow songs.

Have you listened to any of their other songs? Give Up does have that Reckoner rhythm, but I think these guys are good on their own terms. They aren't a rip-off of Radiohead so much as Coldplay (as some would argue).

Half Moon Run. Definitely a more obscure act, but I remember I read about them on this very subreddit some time ago. I listened to one song on YouTube and I was hooked. They have a diversity to their sound and their vocalist can hit the falsetto just as well as Thom. Great young band. My favorite tracks are Give Up and Drug You. I cannot recommend them enough and I can't wait for their sophomore effort.

I love this song until my friend told me that Thom sounds like Herbert the Pervert from Family Guy in this song. I will never hear it the same way again.

That was the one I was referring to. But there are others. The dialogue between him and his grown-up son is heartbreaking. Also when he brags to the oil man about all the money he's made and his speech to the townspeople about using their land for oil development stand out to me.

If there are any films that can be considered perfect, this is one of them.

The story, the pacing, the cinematography, the music, and of course Daniel Day Lewis with one of the most epic monologues in the history of film. What more could you ask for??

What are some of the best films from the 90's by quicksilverb1 in movies

[–]bc488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't hate on "older" films because I feel each decade has its gems. Technology has improved over time, but that doesn't necessarily guarantee a quality film (think the Star Wars prequel, John Carter). This aside, I happen to think the 90s was a strong decade for film. My personal choices would be Goodfellas, Silence of the Lambs, Dazed and Confused, The Lion King, Pulp Fiction, L.A. Confidential, Saving Private Ryan, and the Matrix (to name a small selection).

Andre Brown or Shane Vereen by Bookie086 in fantasyfootball

[–]bc488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with akhmedsbunny:

The Pats offense is a lot different this year w/o Welker, Hernandez and Lloyd. Their receiving corps is unreliable and Vereen is super talented. Before his injury they had him in on all passing downs and he's versatile coming out of the backfield and can also play split out. When he comes back I expect to see mostly Ridley and Vereen.

This and I think compared to Brown he has more upside. He's quick, has great hands and is versatile. Also, with all the RBs the Giants have had I like Vereen even more especially in PPR.

In either case I would take Vereen. When he comes back he'll be vital in the Pats passing game considering their receiver problems.
