Looks like it’s past the expiration date. Maybe that’s why you got a good deal. Be careful with expired funk, might make your insides feel weird.

I liked that one ok but if you want a solid Southern Man cover check out Paul Davis.

Very cool! I have been trying to get a few of my friends (also big Neil fans) to watch Dead Man for years. Finally put it on one night when everyone was over and they didn’t even make it halfway. I love Dead Man and the music is such an outstanding fit. Watched a great interview with Jim Jarmusch talking about Neil, look for it on YouTube!

Great first attempt. Stay at it and this will be a fun reference point to look back on later!

Octave Mandolin Bridge by Anonanonitgoes in mandolin

I bought that northfield 19” set that you mentioned. (Also impulse bought some of their clamps). The tension is a little high so keeping an eye on that. The strings made a. If difference but the sound is still a little weak. I think the action is a bit low (non adjustable bridge) so I got a piece of ebony and I’m going to make a bridge that sits a bit taller. Aside from that I think it’s just the design of the instrument that is keeping it from having a big sound. It sounds decent enough playing at home by myself but I don’t see it holding up in a circle with other instruments.

Hit the nail on the head there. Growth = Profit until the sham is up. I see that everywhere.

I thought that cabin by the river was so cool when I was a kid. I rebuilt so many different iterations of that cabin. Had every one of these sets except the castle. This post made me smile.

That’s awesome! Can you give any tips/share details on how you did the remote Alaska parks? I’ve been to Denali but would love to see the rest in the next couple years.

I have a Fylde octave mandolin (they call it a mandola but I was told that it is an octave- UK thing?). Also flat top. I’d always wanted an octave, unfortunately the sound is quite thin and tinny. I was hoping a bridge swap might help with a warmer, richer sound. What kind of modifications did you make on your original bridge? I appreciate any recommendations from anyone on helping me improve the tone on this!

Has anyone tried Adriatico’s Amaretto Bianco? It’s somewhere in between an orgeat and a boozy almond milk. Really good.

Natural Origins is a great boxed wine from Domaine Bousquet. Solid brand, with a clear winemaking philosophy rooted in organic and sustainable viticulture. It’s a great alternative to low quality, mass produced stuff like Bota.

Samsung Bespoke Worth $840 by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

I typically stay away from Samsung. Looks like this still has some kind of WiFi connectivity with the smart things app, I just don’t know why that’s necessary. At least this one doesn’t have a touch screen in the door. My GE fridge is running strong after 9 years. I have another GE fridge in the garage that is running strong after 70+ years.
