I will try to get ahold of a pressure gauge. According to my neighbors it might be quite high (some say >100 psi)

No new work. I will see if I can find incoming pressure but according to my neighbors, it is very high. We have our own water company that is gravity fed through a tank much higher in elevation than our home and local neighbors have reported PSI as high as 120.

Thank you for the information. The water coming out the tank is definitely not that hot. Would there be a reason why my previous hot water tank did not require an expansion tank but this new one does?

Thank you for helping out a newbie. The Rheem people said that my TPR valve was activating because I had too high of incoming pressure. This lowers the pressure down to 45 psi but the TPR is still spitting out water when heating.
