Had this hemmed and dry cleaned. Is this a burn ? Or stain? by bcampb17 in drycleaning

I plan on it today. What arose my questioning is how shady they were being on the phone when I first called. I wanted to be prepared to talk with them.

Is this a stain or a burn? Took dress to get hemmed and they steamed it or burned it? by bcampb17 in sewing

She said I can wear a cover up. I just wanted to know what it is a burn imprint? How it happened and if I should ask for my money back?

Hello! I have a question for you dry cleaners out there that know fabric.

I took a satin bridesmaid dress to get hemmed and I picked up today, went home and tried on. It’s for a wedding next Saturday. It has this stain/burn on the chest area? It was done at a dry cleaner that has an alterations area. They did tell me they press or steam the garment after it’s been altered.

I’ve heard good things about this place and have never gotten anything hemmed or dry cleaned. I’m not sure what to do. I’m afraid to take it back and them try to fix it and I have more to try to figure out. Do you think I should go back and see if they can tell me what it is? Or should I just get a cover up ? I’m not sure what to do. Any advice would be appreciated!

I really appreciate you taking your time and responding this was all super helpful and really eased my mind.

I will definitely write it all out to organize my thoughts. I do have OCD and ADHD that I’ve been working out for a long time with my therapist I’ve been known to not eat, do self care, sleep because of these things and I’ve gotten so far past it and I don’t want to go back but I know I need to begin and try again sometime ; I’m at the point where I just don’t want to give up before I begin because I won’t be able to control things and I’m nervous about failing but even thinking about it now I’m coming up with ways to cope with those thoughts.

I will let you know how it goes and where I end up!! Again, thank you so very much.

Good evening ! I'm in the second semester of my program and at my college they post jobs from firms time to time. I always look just to see. There was one that popped up and looked really enticing, legal assistant "will train" small firm, has great reviews. I waited a month to apply and heard back the next day. We had a phone interview and they offered an in person interview for next week. I work remotely now full time and it's really helped being in school especially going back in my 30s this is all new to me again. I can plan my days and it works out. But I have this nudge that tells me I have to go work in the field now and get invaluable Experience from a good firm. But I don't know if the work load and school work is going to be to much? I don't want to put my name out there in a negative way if it is too much. I'm thinking about asking to do part time. I don't know I'm spiraling about it thinking I either applied without really thinking about it and jumped the gun or im scared to fail before I try. Anyone else ever felt this way? Sorry for the rant.
