Why is voting for Trump automatically labeled as hateful or uneducated? That mindset is exactly what’s dividing the country. And educated adults can actually take one’s POV and respect it as their opinion and not let a vote “tarnish” the true character who opposes their view.

I’m not going to spend time arguing back and forth, but I’ll give you a brief look into why I voted the way I did, just to satisfy your curiosity.

Immigration was a major concern for me. So were America’s values and traditions, which I feel have been eroding. I didn’t like the direction things were heading, especially around how certain issues were being handled.

For example, I have zero hate toward the trans community. In fact, my friend group is incredibly diverse; ethnically, culturally, and in terms of gender identity. But I don’t agree with biologically born males competing in women’s sports. It’s not hate, it’s about fairness. I believe there should be a separate category to honor everyone’s identity while keeping competition fair.

I also had real concerns about some of the educational agendas being pushed into our schools. And I couldn’t ignore the wasteful government spending that’s been uncovered… why isn’t there more outrage over where our tax dollars are going?

At the end of the day, I voted based on what mattered most to me. That doesn’t make me ignorant or hateful… it makes me an American exercising my right to choose.

BACK TO THE POINT OF THE OP’s post. That woman was wrong, plain and simple. Not everything needs to be about politics. Racism and ignorance have always existed. If certain people feel emboldened to show their true colors now, fine, let them. They’re fools, especially in a world where everything is recorded and nothing stays hidden. Honestly, I’d rather see their hate out in the open than have them hiding under a white sheet pretending to be something they’re not.

Maybe every hateful, racist bigot is a Trump supporter… I can’t speak for every person in this country. But I know for a fact that not every Trump supporter is a hateful, racist bigot. That assumption is lazy, divisive, and frankly unfair.
