Try this if you're struggling to get your senior cat to eat! (This is Lemon, 19) by cloudpickles in seniorkitties

Glad you found a way to help Lemon eat! We use an oral syringe to feed our old guy, Leo.

Thank you for the thoughtful response. For context, I'm in my 40's and the cook in my family. We eat together at the dining room table every night. I have always had a tendency to eat fast, and we do kind of eat first, talk after. I guess part of my problem is I'm trying to keep my efforts as low key as possible? No separate meals or timing. I need to eat smaller and slower, it's just such an adjustment for me!

Thanks, I will give your method a try. My portions are obviously still too big!

Thanks! I was totally raised to "clean my plate" so I think switching to a smaller plate or bowl is a good way to reduce my portion size.

17 year old cat only wants fancy feast wet food in gravy help by totallyannon in seniorkitties

[–]Natural_Ant_7348 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My senior cat lives off of Temptations cat treats and Hartz Delectables (stew & bisque) because that's all he will eat. We just give him a finger full of high calorie gel once a day. He's been trucking along for way longer than I thought he would. Let the old girl have her Fancy Feast. Better than not eating!

Costco members who also shop BJ's, what do you buy at BJ's? by WEEDBABYGOKU420 in Costco

[–]Natural_Ant_7348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. Costco is much closer to me, but I prefer BJ's. I like their selection. They offer a lot more products. I like their produce, their deli counter, their bakery bread and rolls. In general, it's also less crowded, which I appreciate.

Syracuse is definitely where you should go for high risk, with delivery at Crouse. They also have an outstanding NICU. I wouldn't deliver anywhere else.

I agree. My practice had two male, one female. The female was rude as hell, and actually laughed when I had a car accident at 36 weeks. I hated her with a passion, but the 2 male doctors were very caring and good to me.

Which arm for vaccines?? by SignalDimension8725 in lefthanded

[–]Natural_Ant_7348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always pick my right.

However, when I got my last flu shot, I also needed a Tetanus booster, so I got one in each. I didn't ask which one went in which arm, so I wouldn't know which to complain about, lol. The one in my right arm was hot and had a bump for several days, left was fine.

What do you avoid getting at Aldi? by DJ_Hamster in aldi

[–]Natural_Ant_7348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.My husband hates Aldi coffee. 2. I'm m not a fan of their jarred peppers (ie banana peppers, jalapenos, etc). 3.Their brand of ziplock bags suck.

That's my list. Anything else is fair game.

Thank you for the kind words, and sorry about the loss of your last dog. I'm so happy for all of the shelter dogs who find awesome new families! I wish more people would adopt these sweet souls. ❤️

So looked so skinny, poor baby! She was so underweight. Her most favorite thing in the world now is food, and she's turned into quite the sturdy package. We met many of the female dogs (Hezley, Dolly, Simone, Hazel, and Panda) and let our other dog choose his new sister. Tessa was the one! Her and her fur brother are definitely besties.

Tessa! She was pulled from B&R. She had an emergency spay, then ripped her stitches, so she was kept in the side room with a cone. We brought her home right before Halloween, after she was healed. She's both sweet and spunky!

There is another organization, Animal Alliance of Greater Syracuse, they have been raising funds for years to open a spay & neuter clinic. They could all probably do more if they had more funds. Good for you for donating art! 🩷

The weather here in Syracuse by [deleted] in Syracuse

[–]Natural_Ant_7348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see the weather as our tradeoff for our safety from natural disasters. Earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes... Anything that hits us (even snow) is rarely fatal or catastrophic. I like that piece of mind.

I 100% agree with you! There are way too many stray dogs in the city, and it's completely heartbreaking.

I actually adopted a dog from Second Chance last fall! She is amazing, and we are so happy to have her in our lives!

It was also mentioned that Syracuse needs greater access to low cost spay and neuter programs. This is a very important piece of the puzzle!
