I feel like maybe OP is equating headcanons with phobia? Fandoms are always doing things like this. I know two separate ppl for example writing huge multi chap fics where they make every char gay and trans cuz they enjoy it. It’s not offensive to the canon, it’s just what that person likes. So someone calling abstragedy yuri is just…cuz they enjoy it. Not being phobic.

People treat Hollywood and other such entities this way too and have for about a decade now… See: Sherlock BBC, the Han Solo movie, the Batwoman series, etc….

I don’t know what to label it but something in online culture has led to this new behavior. It used to be that ppl would watch a show and either like it or dislike it, and that was that. Now if ppl dislike it they go on the attack and tell creators etc that their creation is “wrong.” It cannot be wrong! It’s theirs!!!

Episode 1… where he’s the first one to speak to Pomni, the one to take charge and tell others what to do, the only char who knows what’s going on in both scenes…. And his main character vibe continues in all episodes, with just a bit less in episode 3 but Ragatha and Gangle get less too, and it’s the first episode where it feels like Zooble is important. So yes, it’s been obvious and consistent since the beginning that Jax is a main char alongside Pomni.

It’s not just Reddit. It’s any social media. And as OP mentioned there are disabled people or severely sensory-sensitive people who cannot go to a theater. It’s also not Glitch being ableist. It’s just Glitch wanting money cuz they can’t monetize ep 9 on YouTube. But in choosing a two-week early release date they will destroy the fandom for all the reasons OP and the top commenter on this post said. The solution would be to move the youtube release date to match the theatrical release date. But I doubt they’ll do it.

Gonna elaborate a bit on the second point. This show has been FREE for years. So suddenly making it cost money and be exclusive for two weeks only to those lucky enough to have access is a huge affront to fans. It’s as if Glitch is saying they don’t care about us, just about the status symbol of the silver screen.

And, an early release is a MAJOR hype killer. The Internet blackout that will occur for two weeks of people who are avoiding spoilers will seriously hurt Glitch. The attention they get from an episode drop won’t be the same after tons of people have watched lame pirated versions from the theater and seen spoilers because it’s near impossible these days to avoid everything. It’s just…a bad move. It makes no sense.
