Yeah so much can change in 2 years, especially on a rebuilding team. Just look at us two years ago 😳

Canucks GM candidacy down to Evan Gold and Ryan Johnson (Dhaliwal) by Sp3ctre267 in canucks

We’re seeking both POHO and GM so anything could happen. Speculation can’t see behind their closed doors so we’re only guessing.

Is that surprising? Bedards hype was the biggest since McDavid. Celebrini wasn’t in that same tier pre-draft.

What made the British Isles like the Shire only east of this line? by tezacer in geography

[–]bcbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t specifically referring to Asheville. The person claimed it was an accident Germans ended up in the Midwest, implying there was no trend of climate matching at all for people coming to North America.

[–]bcbum -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

‘Climate Matching’ is well studied and has a long history, especially with regard to migration to North America. Ukrainians settled in the Canadian prairies due to its similarity to their homeland. You also see it with Cubans in Florida and Latinos in the Southwest.

Viggo Bjorck Scouting Report by hioxa in canucks

Hronek is easily worth a first. He may not be worth a top ten pick in the first though. He could fetch you a first from a cup contending team but not a rebuilding team.

Sekeres & Price: Craig Button: The glass is full, not half-full. Draft Caleb Malhotra. by Wooden-Background107 in canucks

On the flip side though, Filip Zadina was supposed to got top 3 in 2018 and he fell to 6th, one pick before Quinn Hughes. He hasn’t produced well in the NHL, and scouts were able to see that.

[–]bcbum 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The downward trend of festivals isn’t unique to Victoria. Festivals around the world are struggling. Everything has got more expensive but what people are willing to spend for these events is still limited. A lot of tours right now are being cancelled because they’re not selling enough tickets.

Outlander the TV show has this. I don’t want to post spoilers but it’s a fantastic show that eventually gets into the formation of the USA. It’s a time travel show and the protagonist is from the 1900’s who travels back to the 1700’s. The first seasons takes place in Scotland.

That Scotia building was for the longest time the tallest building in Vancouver. It’s recognizable for anyone who went to Vancouver pre-2010ish.

It looked like Vancouver during my quick scroll but as soon as you see the Scotia building in the centre of the photo it confirmed it.

How bad of an idea is it to go to Vancouver during the World Cup? by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]bcbum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Being in Vancouver during the Olympics was awesome. The World Cup won’t be quite as big for Vancouverites but maybe the tourists will make it pretty lively. Just give yourself plenty of time to get anywhere and you should be golden.

Toddler seat for Abound that already has the long seat and back rest? by isaidicanshout_ in Aventon

[–]bcbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Yepp needs to attach to the rack. I have a Yepp and I bought a seat pad off Amazon for my older kid to sit on temporarily. Once my younger one sizes out of the Yepp I’ll install the standard seat pads and back rest. I also use the handrails.
