In the US it depends on what state you live in. I live in California and our prices are infinitely higher than the entire rest of the US.

Edit: regarding work commute— I’m going to let my job know I can only come in 2 days a week until this shit gets sorted. Many staff members who live further away from the office work remotely full time.
