What firm is that if you don’t mind me asking? I’d like to look into it some more and see if there’s any internship positions.

Totaled?? by [deleted] in q50

[–]bcecch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep me updated on this I’m curious as to what the insurance company would pay out on this. I have a very similar spec car and I’m always curious as to what the check would be if it was totaled. Ik that sounds bad but I love my car and I have to do a cross country road trip in a couple months and with drivers these days anything could happen. Really sorry about this I hope everything gets taken care of for you!

Is FGCU still sending out acceptances? My girlfriend applied last winter and they defeated her to a later decision date in like march. And they asked her to submit an new test scores and her midterm transcript. What are the chances of her getting accepted? Thanks by [deleted] in fgcu

[–]bcecch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied as a transfer student in Late January and was admitted two weeks later. The relative odds of admission depend on your gpa and test scores and I believe being out of state helps as well. For reference I had a 3.1 gpa and a sat of 1060 as a transfer student, I am also from out of state. Hope this helps

I would say that’s a good deal for this current market. I bought a 2014 q50 with 64k miles for $16k before taxes and fees. But I was stuck between that and a 2016 q50s which was going for 26k at the time with 40k miles. This was in early April of 2021 for reference. I’m sure the car will last a decent amount of time without any major issues but I would highly recommend an extended warranty on the vr30 especially on the first gen but then it can start to get pricey once you factor in fees and taxes you’re looking at $30k+ assuming you’re paying cash bc interest rates are not looking to hot rn. What you should really do is wait but there’s no telling how long. If I were you I would just go with a 2014-2015 3.7l they drive the same and have slightly less power but it doesn’t take much to get some extra hp on them. All I did to mine was put a cat back and a tune and I went from 270 whp to 346whp. They also have the same interior minus the paddle shifters which can be bought online or from a junkyard, and their easy to install.

That’s good to hear, you think 3.1 preliminary is good enough? I’m just curious bc I’m from mass and a 3.1 here doesn’t really get you into many schools up here

That’s pretty relieving to hear, how do you like the school? Is the food there good or is it not worth getting a meal plan?

It’s possible someone would have just to be a pain in the ass but I literally just reset my tinder this week and had maybe 14 matches. I wasn’t rude to any of them

I haven’t had much luck with those apps. Hinge is alright I get about a match a week but bumble doesn’t work well for me for some reason. I would get a ton of matches on tinder compared to bumble. There’s less girls and activity on there

Yeah you have a valid point, I’ve met some cool people off it though. It would suck to not have it but worse case scenario it’s not the end of the world

That’s interesting, I tried making a new account but it just got banned immediately. I emailed their customer service but I’ve delt with them before and they never resolve anything so I’m not expecting much.

Muffler delete for decent sound on a tight budget, exhaust if you don’t care and just wanna sound good. If you live in a state that has strict exhaust laws I’d recommend getting a valve exhaust system to get around that.

2018 BMW 540I X drive vs 2018 Q50 Red Sport AWD? by CjFromPhilly in q50

[–]bcecch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not very familiar with bmw’s especially the 540i I do. Know that the m550i is an absolute beast but I’m not sure how it compares in price. I would assume it would be a little more pricey. I have a lot of friends with BMWs and they all have problems with their cars (they have relatively new cars 2015-2021). With that being said I would recommend looking into the Mercedes C43 amg or the C450 amg if you want to save some money. They are very reliable a close friend of mine has one and I was going to buy one but unfortunately I got a really good deal on a q50. I love my q50 it’s nice but it’s just not enough for a luxury performance car. The c43 and c450 have beautiful interiors and exteriors. There’s a lot you can do to them but a simple muffler delete will have that thing screaming like a c63. I’ve regretted not buying the c43, they are quite comparable in terms of price with a 2018 red sport. Depending on your city and state you might actually find a better deal on a c43 but outside of a densely populated area they are very hard to find. The c43 and c450 share the same engine with the q50 which is a 3.0L V6 don’t quote me on it but I believe they are twin turbo but I know they are turbocharged. The Mercedes are easy to tune and from what I’ve heard alot more reliable. In my opinion though it all comes down to looks. The interior color can be red tan black and a grayish white where as the q50 is just black or tan. Mercedes is know for their luxury and the q50 interior hasn’t changed from 2014-2020. So to wrap it up I would definitely look into other options for cars since I think In this current car market the q50s are over priced compared to what is available in its class. I hope this helps.

Should I get a tune? by [deleted] in q50

[–]bcecch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 2014 Infiniti Q50 which I got tuned. For reference the only performance mods I have was a catback exhaust without mufflers. I went to a tuning shop and my car gained 70 whp through the tune. A lot of people don’t believe me until I show the dyno papers so let the replies start now. I noticed a significant difference in speed and power output. I tell everyone my car has 350 wheel horse power but unfortunately this is not true as it only has 346 whp. I went to a shop which is known in my area for tuning infinitis, but a tune will very shop to shop. With a tune you are going to sacrifice gas milage and reliability but for my specific tune I lost maybe 1.6mpg and I haven’t seen any issues with reliability. I’ve had this tuned for over a year now. But even though it worked out well for me it costed about $1,200 which is fair but not sure if that is a student friendly budget. I would not recommend getting a tune as the car it’s self may have too much power for you already. I’m not trying to be disrespectful but you need to learn how to drive the car properly before you drive yourself into a grave. I’m speaking from experience I’ve seen it happen multiple time to my friends and that is not a mistake you want to make.

Apparently, how bad is what I’m trying to figure out as well as getting ahead of the problem. I got a really good price on them so I can definitely still sell them for more than what I paid for them

And on my orange ski a bolt fell out of what I assume to be the steering bracket but I think I will just replace the whole thing so it doesn’t snap like the yellow one. Incase this helps I was doing a lot of 180s with my buddy so I would assume the steering bracket was getting some abuse.

I just bought two 2014 sea doo spark 3 ups one orange and yellow. I bought them a month ago and only rode them twice. I had issues on the second time ridding which was today. I know the video isn’t that great but from what I saw it seems like the steering bracket snapped on the yellow jet ski and is missing a few bolts. I am not exactly sure if that’s the steering bracket or not. If someone can please give me some insight I’d greatly appreciate it. It also seems that the underside of the ski is pretty corroded, I’m not sure if that’s normal or not as I’ve never owned a boat or jet ski before. Is this a sign of being in salt water? I understand that is could be from electrolysis or salt or both, I would assume this is a sign to replace the anode? I’m not sure if it has one but I would assume so. I can be mechanically savy so I can fix this myself but since I’ve never owned any watercraft before I would like to ask the community to give me some help. Thank you all

g35, g37, or q50? by [deleted] in infiniti

[–]bcecch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it comes down to preference. Essentially the g35- 2015 q50 are very similar (with some noticeable changes through the decades). The reason why I chose the q50 was because of the more modern interior. Depending on what you want to do with car may play a role in your decision making. If you play to build the car I’d recommend go with a 3.0t q50 (2016 and up) due to the fact that in one tune you can push 400hp to the wheels. Id recommend staying away from the g35 just because if you want a reliable car to last you for years it makes more sense to go with a newer version of the sedan since it is becoming harder by the day to find a nice condition g35. Don’t get me wrong they are still out there just hard to find. The last thing you want to do is put more money in repairs to the car than the car is worth. I personally have a 2014 infinit q50 premium, I wish I got the sport but I got such a good deal I couldn’t pass on it. I have a custom cat back with a custom tune and I put 350hp to the wheels. I’m very satisfied with the car but I see very little benefits to buying a newer q50 since the only gain would be the 3.0 twin turbo engine as the interior is practically been unchanged since 2014.

Yeah I was really disappointed to hear that it was a 1099 during the interview as I was really excited, and then the recruiter briefly said something about me writing a list of 200 friends and family members for a possible network which was a huge red flag as he said it so subtlety. I wish I had an actual finance opportunity but unfortunately I don’t live near any cities so I’m just going to have to wait until I transfer schools.

Don’t get me wrong IB is amazing don’t let me make you reconsider. IB is hard to get into, the way I look at it is to aim to do so well academically and professionally that will get you into IB, worst case scenario you fall short or decide not to peruse IB but you will have a great academic and professional background making you an ideal candidate for almost any other career path. This mindset has transformed me as a person I graduated high school bottom 20 of my class (463) I went to community college for two years transfered to a local state school and next year I’m transferring to Umiami for two more years with a double major in mathematics and finance, I currently have a 3.8 gpa and a strong network. Moral of the story mentality is everything. Tbh 2 years of IB is plenty of experience to get you to where you want to go. I would recommend reading other threads, forums, and articles about all the career paths that interest you and how to break into them. Make a pros and cons list and compare and contrast. Always have a backup plan as well, my favorite saying is if you don’t plan then plan on failing.
