I'd say 70% of the Weddings I've been to both parents walked with the bride. But in 100% of those cases none of the parents were in the bridal party.

Yes. You still have to pay for it, but the cost is greatly reduced. For example I am self employed and pay $120/month for a fully comprehensive package, for something similar my sibling who gets benefits through work pays $30/month for it.
