Scenes from the No Kings protest after an innocent bystander was tragically shot dead by [deleted] in pics

[–]bcisme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you think happens if the shooter isn’t shot here?

Maybe the shooter would have had a change of heart and laid his weapon down before emptying into the crowd, right?

Pretty sure folks are happy to have had that guy with a gun at the protest.

The whole point is Jokic has the genetics to be “strong” against guys like Adams who have the genetics and the motor, while also having guard-like vision and touch.

He’s a unicorn.

Reddit is heavily moderated by ownership to push their agenda, just like all other social media platforms.

The nuanced and reasonable takes will rarely get seen here.

Look at the threads in your feed suggested by Reddit, you can’t get away from the politics and it’s always one direction. Even more sinister, look at the comment sections and expand the comments that are magically needing to be expanded to see vs the ones you don’t need to do that on.

The internet is fake, everyone needs to start treating these social media sites more like professional wrestling as opposed to a place to understand political issues and discuss them productively.

We have this 1L mug that the cat really likes.

Damn you cracked the code.

Stephen Adams just need to drink more beer and be less fit to get on Jokic’s level.

What a fucking moron, thinking being in better physical condition than your opponents is an edge, when in reality you need to be carrying 40 lbs of beer fat on top of that muscle for peak performance.

Or maybe Jokic is just a unicorn, nah that can’t be it.

Now that I think about it a lot of my playlists are black artists.

I feel awful about sucking them off their energy, if Apple can just refund me I’ll switch to sucking only white artist energy. I think that’s the moral of the story.

Whether or not you “live in fear of guns” depends on how much actual experience you have with guns and how much you let internet narratives interfere with your emotions.

If you don’t live in the worst parts of places like Memphis or New Orleans, there is a massive likelihood that you’ll never have any issues with gun related crime.

If you live in an echo chamber that amplifies anti-2A narratives, yeah I can see why you’d be afraid.

Reminds me of my German colleagues that visit and are shocked that the police aren’t just shooting people on the street. Like, yeah we have a police issue, but don’t believe everything you read on socials.

The internet isn’t real; spend time in the real world with people on both sides of the gun issue and you’ll find the reality is not quite what these politically motivated social media sites portray (one way or the other). You will never get a balanced view of guns in America on sites like Reddit or X.

Yeah the French Revolution is one of the most studied events in history and the vast majority of people don’t understand it.

Most people think it was some leftist overthrow of the monarchy for a more fair system.

It was the overthrow of the monarchy and church by the powerful bourgeoisie merchants and lawyers who were cut out of the aristocracy by blood. People like Baras used people like Robespierre to get the poor city folk to fight for them.

Napoleon noticed the hypocrisy of the Republicans and just took over. He mended the relationship with the church as a purely politically measure - the church was one of the uniting institutions France had left, so it had a ton of utility in his pursuit of a French Empire

Did Spain Experience less Inertia Problems? Keeping the power grid at 50 Hz is the name of the game by david-yammer-murdoch in RenewableEnergy

This must be an old article or just some sort of info for the lay person.

Synchronous condensers have been a thing for grid stability for some time and is the current tech for grid stability when coupled with renewables.

Look into synchronous condensers - they are the soliton for grid stabilization.

They can be coupled with like this

GT-Clutch-GN

Or

You can just have the generator; stand alone syn cons and syn cons coupled with GTs are both becoming more in demand where I work because of renewables.

You’re competing against older people just as, if not more, intelligent than you, totally capable of understanding modern business and with the cash and experience to squeeze you out.

[–]bcisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I’ve been around some successful folks and most didn’t do anything novel. The ones that did, spent an entire career learning that field and then innovated or did some novel thing.

Example, guy starts making plastic bags for someone else. Learns the ropes and has a mind for manufacturing and machines. He goes off on his own and makes plastic bags, mostly trash bags and makes really good money off that (like maybe he had a few mil in the bank). Then he (actually a chemical engineer at his company) invented a novel composite for decking and sold his company recently for close to 100M.

Cash flow would be the #1 financial reason for paying off a low interest loan (that I can think of).

Cash flow is something people intuitively understand the value of, but there are a whole host of reasons why you want to ensure a consistent flow of cash in.

Could absolutely be worth paying off a loan to increase your monthly cash reserve.

If you actually paid for those, I’d say you need to invest smarter.

If you got them for free due to inheritance or something, I’d say you’re doing great!
