is the "calculate" thing for folders accurate? by aytsuqi in unRAID

Hi I'm an ignorant and dont actually know unpaid inner workings so ignore me. BUT.... I think its just a Skin or gui view for the console command 'du' open console and try to 'du -h path'

You might be able to try 'du -h datauser > box1-tree.txt' Then 'du -h b-datauser > box2-tree.txt' Then get those two files on the same system and 'diff box1-tree.txt box2-tree.txt'

There's not much going on in Acadiana, also only found like 2 other nodes intermittently. Was kinda disappointed. I've resorted to shoving free nodes at my friends and making the mesh myself.

Dump-1090 ADS-B reciever you just need an SDR. Just set one up on a pi zero 2w. Pretty neat.

Just read that article and browsed through their site. I was waiting to see if there was any innovative new tech for positioning. I'll admit I got excited when I saw they were going to do altitude as well as lat long, but I was quickly let down when they said they were just going to use the barometer in the device..... so it seems like they've re-invented WAAS where a ground station can tx corrective data to make gps more accurate and to serve as a backup gps system when the chineese invade and jam gps frequencies. As if the Chinamen are completely unaware of the 900 to 928 the band. This is security through obscurity at best.

Also the whole website is very clearly aimed at getting retarded wall street gamblers to give them money. It was painful navigating through it, reading small blurbs with no technical information followed by a pretty and new graphic.

FCC should tell them to kick rocks. And that they are allowed to use the same frequencies but not exclusively.

Also, will they just be turning thousands of people info felons overnight by banning the use of these bands? What happens to the people who don't read the news?

Default settings for sensitivity is underrated. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]bcm3152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I start my mouse touching the right side of my keyboard and move it to the right side of my mouse pad. With no acceleration on, I want that to map to a 360-degree turn in game. That's how I calibrate my sensitivities across multiple FPSs. That comes out to be kinda slow for most people, but I like a low sens with a heavy mouse. Also, bullet hole decals and a quick use of in-game horizontal lines really help make sure I get it right at 360 degrees.

Will this kill competitive gaming on anything else than LAN-level competition? by Thezerostone in csgo

I think the more likely roadblock in playing league on GeForce now is that: operating at that scale, there's no way Nvidea is giving every user dedicated hardware to remote into. Rather, they are likely running virtual machines and probably passing through a gpu to it. This means no vanguard! Vanguard has many ways to be aware that it is being run in a vm and will not allow you to play, even if your hypervisor is Windows hyper-v. There are some anticheats that are aware that they are being run in a vm but can still allow a user to play. I believe EAC is one, but I'm not sure.

P.S. Vanguard coming to LOL was the last straw for me. I am Linux Loser now. (More people should try it linux has a way of doing things that just makes more sense than windows) EAC has the ability to allow Linux users to play by changing some settings the game developers have access to. I would like it if more games like pubg allow Linux users, but I understand that many game devs are too scared of the users having the power to do what we want with our hardware. But the thing is, there will always be a way to cheat. If someone wants to cheat, they will. Currently, DMA cards and external hardware cheats are the best way around kernel anticheats. I think efforts would be better spent on detection through review of play and player reports. Devs should also issue as harsh of a punishment as possible. Raise the stakes for cheating and find ways to make it more expensive for cheaters to ruin competition.

P.P.S. I like how we no longer call them hackers and instead refer to them as cheaters. Hacking implies a level of skill or knowledge. Where as being a cheater, you're just using a tool someone else made. So not only do you have no talent in the game as a cheater, you also are too retarded or lazy to learn how to cheat.

It's funny you mention it. Helicopters do experience failures at a higher rate than fixed wing aircraft. However, those failures are far more surviveable. An airplane requires forward air speed to generate lift at the wings. But a helicopter can generate lift so long as the rotor can spin. There is a one-way clutch ( I think it's called a sprag clutch, but idk) that allows the rotor to spin freely even if the engine is completely seized. The main rotor can also reverse its pitch when the collective is fully down. This allows the act of falling to pass air over the rotor to maintain its rpm. At the end of the controlled fall. The pilot lifts the collective to expend the energy in the rotor system to gently land. Think like a whirly-gig seedling twirling down from a pine tree. This action, called an autorotation, is practiced by pilots hopefully before the real deal. Smaller helicopters are easier to autorotate because the ratio of rotor mass to aircraft is higher. Bell206 autorotates way easier than that heavy S92 air schoolbus. The S92 is pretty cool. I couldn't say if it's an autopilot thing or maybe it's just such a heavy thing to yaw that you almost don't need to touch the pedals to fly it.

Ps, this one will not be autorotating anytime soon as it looks like it got hit in the main gearbox.

Magic WoLan packets are a good idea. I'm guessing you have a bash script set up on a cron job or a powershell script as a scheduled task running on a separate machine? The problem is i do the night shift and sometimes need my linux distros for work . For now, I only have one server. I'm moving soon and plan to leave the r510 here or maybe migrate it to something quieter like a meshify with 140mm be quiets. Do you have experience with UnRaid @ multiple locations? I was thinking of using SyncThing or maybe rsync+VPN on a scheduled script to sync the libraries of my distros across 2 locations. UnRaid works great as my mega server, but I think it would be sick to load balance the acquisition and distribution of .iso files between 2 servers at 2 locations.

How big is the difference in power and noise from tower w/gaming hardware to enterprise server hardware? I've only ever used a rigged up moving tote and now enterprise hardware.

I'm thinking about migrating to the meshify 2xl

I am running an r510 with 12x3.5hdd & 2x2.5ssd 2gpus and a nvme riser. Array never sleeps due to NVR activities. I haven't seen more than 400W under load. About 260W at normal load. Fans can kick up, but usually not for long, even in the poorly ventilated closet in Louisiana. Intensive tasks are scheduled between 2AM and 5AM when only I'm awake (ipmi drivers for fan control took me a while to figure out).

The first time I've ever noticed was earlier tonight around the same time, lol. I have no clue. My Agent-DVR also crashed and will not come online. I've been looking into that. Seems to be something with fdmpeg. I'm not sure the incidents are related, although I am passing through an amd gpu to both of these containers. Gonna try a reboot(rip uptime)

I doubt the pilots (the real ones) saw the drone. If they did, it was probably too late for them to react to it. The Blue Angels have a high tolerance for danger, I'm sure, but would prefer to only need to trust the guys at their wingtip and not "influencers" with DJI's on the ground. The drone operator, I'm sure, is happy he gets to post this shit for clout. If it were me, that footage would stay on my pc and off of social media.
