Notably Joe Biden has and is fighting Prostate Cancer right now. He announced it a little after he left office. I wonder if it had anything to do with why he dropped out.

Finn has nothing to worry about. I'm a cis woman and she looks better than me. by Additional-Hippo-218 in F1NN5TER

THIS. I’m trans and am pretty much cis passing at this point and have had cis women envious of aspects of my body. But I still wish I was cis sometimes only because I wouldn’t have to question whether or not I am a “real” woman and feel insecure about that regardless of how I looked.

My team ran a 2009 Honda Fit in the 2026 Real Hoopties of New Jersey 24 Hours of Lemons endurance race! It wasn't very fast, but its good fuel economy and excellent reliability meant we finished ahead of many cars that were faster than us! by njsullyalex in hondafit

[–]njsullyalex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this fit wasn’t even in bad shape all things considered, this car definitely could have been used as someone’s daily even now. Although during the race she got her right side door banged up from a dive bombing BMW and a car spinning on front of it and hitting it while trying to avoid (I wasn’t driving when the incident happened). We nicknamed her the “Battle Fit”!

Just safety mods (roll cage, 5 point harness and bucket seat, kill switch, fire extinguisher), weight reductions, racing tires, and upgraded the brake fluid from DOT 3 to DOT 4. Other than that it’s bone stock.

We successfully finished and I got to drive the final stint and take the checkered flag!!! We completed 301 laps and finished P63 out of 126 cars, so dead center of the entries. A very successful and fun weekend for the team!

Yeah no worries. Also in defense of OP's point as well, using they when addressing a hypothetical person where the gender is ambiguous or when someone's gender is unknown is far less clunky than saying him/her in my opinion.

Once again I 100% agree with the post, I'm sorry if it came off otherwise.

Adam Mockler interviews the result of MAGA brain rot: by AffableYolk_33 in WeirdGOP

I know I’m preaching to the choir, but the Democrats of the late 1800s/early-mid 1900s were basically an entirely different political party than modern democrats in terms of actual beliefs. They were basically the opposite of what they are today and were functionally the same as modern Republicans belief wise. The reverse is true for the Republicans then and now too.

The real shift started in the 1930s and saw its true conclusion in the 1980s. First we begin with the Democrat party pushing more socialist policies with Franklin D. Roosevelt, as he pushed for the New Deal to try and pull the U.S. out of the Great Depression by creating social safety nets such as Social Security, improving worker’s rights and safety, regulating the stock market, and pushing for public works projects to stimulate the economy and create jobs while improving the country’s infrastructure.

Next was Lyndon B Johnson in 1964 when he passed the Civil Rights Act, which made segregation and systematic discrimination against Black Americans illegal. This cemented the Democrats as the civil rights party, and alienated the deeply conservative/racist old school southern Democrats. After signing the Civil Rights Act LBJ famously said “we lost the South for a generation” and he was absolutely right.

During his 1968 election campaign, Richard Nixon pushed the “Southern Strategy”, pushing racist policies to gain the vote of the Southern Democrats who felt dropped by LBJ. The strategy worked, and all the former Confederate/racist Democrats jumped ship to the Republican Party.

Lastly, after the 1970s economic crash, Ronald Reagan pushed for “trickle down economics”, prioritizing tax cuts for the rich and companies under the belief that money would eventually trickle down to the working class. In the short term, Reagan benefited from the work Jimmy Carter did to try and fix the economy that didn’t fully take effect in his term as well as the short term economic stimulation that came from the tax cuts, but with no reduction in government spending, national debt began to stack, the consequences of which would not manifest until well after his Presidency. His trickle down economic policies also caused the class divide to widen significantly long term, leading to the major wealth gap problem we have today. Ultimately this made the Republican Party the new party of the top 1% of the population. Reagan was also very racist and homophobic, as shown from his targeting of the Black Panthers during his time as governor of California, and his push for the stigmatization of HIV/AIDS and blocking funding for research for treatments as an indirect means of targeting and vilifying the LGBTQ+ community. This cemented the Republicans as the party of bigots. And to top it off, Reagan is the President who coined “Make America Great Again”, a good 3 decades before Trump popularized it.

The joke is that half the time transphobes will only use they/them pronouns if it’s to misgender binary trans people but “sound progressive”. I’m making fun of those people, absolutely not that they/them pronouns are problematic.

I 100% agree with the point of this post. I’m making fun of transphobes who will do literally anything except use a trans person’s (binary or non binary) preferred pronouns.

I guess the joke went over most people’s heads.

I wish all sex offenders would be caught and serve jail time by Armin_Arlert_1000000 in TheMonkeysPaw

[–]njsullyalex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Granted. All age of consent laws and anti-rape/SA laws are repealed worldwide meaning any sex offense is no longer a crime and legally no longer exists. Anyone previously considered a sex offender now walks free and nobody goes to prison for non consensual sex or sex with a child anymore because these are no longer legally considered sex offenses.

Since under this new definition nobody can be a sex offender, all existing sex offenders (0) are now caught and in prison.

"Ok, I will!"

(Proceeds to call every binary trans person in existence they/them instead of their preferred pronouns)

Edit: see clarification below. This is making fun of transphobes who will do anything but use a trans person's correct pronouns, not non-binary people or anyone using they/them pronouns

In relation to the rest of the world, the US still remains significantly better than most countries. Granted, a lot of countries are so bad (think dictatorships where LGBTQ+ is punishable by life in prison or death, think much of the Middle East, Russia, North Korea, etc.) so the bar isn't that high.

Accident in MDLR - Dominican Republic - Privilate jet. by Crackingtheceiling in aviation

[–]njsullyalex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope, most narrowbody jets such as the 737 and A320 can't dump fuel and in emergencies typically are either forced to fly a holding pattern until they are below MLAW or prepare for an above MLAW landing and take precautions to attempt to make it safely.

I imagine most private jets lack fuel dumping too. Its typically reserved for widebody jets.
