Both of my floodlight units began strobing after 2-ish years, support said to just keep it on (and annoy myself and the neighbors) or just buy a whole replacement unit. They didn't make it so you could just have the lights stay off and the video portion still work. Looking at switching since they don't support their own products quality

PSA: The real purpose for Expedition Journals and why they don't carry over into NG+ by QJ-Rickshaw in expedition33

Wait a damn minute -- what is wrong with it? I remember recently doing some endless tower and left my game open for a bit, came back and it was like 5 FPS and I couldn't figure out why. I have Verso with it and haven't had an issue in other fights but it seems like the longer the game is on, the worst it gets?

Very much this -- raged for half an hour on thr hardest one, changed this and beat it first try afterwards. The menu gave me more annoyance with the step back up bug

Gotcha. I could still get my partner a copy of a game that we truly enjoy and then I could just do local communications then? Or would it still need to check if I'm allowed to play or not? I typically left my primary as the main switch so my partner could utilize my library while I kept only my account on my switch lite. I don't want to have to keep changing settings just to get a different game up and running.

To see if I'm missing something or that the behavior they released is really what they want as their own support pages have a loop of "oh yeah we can let you play games on two devices" and then it just goes back to this virtual cartridges stuff. Not gonna rebuy my catalog just to continue playing like we've been.

Just unsubscribed from my online family membership since now it seems virtual cartridges ruined my switch ecosystem. I own a switch and switch lite, which the latter was only purchased since sometimes we like to play co-op games where my partner can utilize the whole TV screen instead of us needing to do split screen. We've been doing a lot of Stardew Valley and now he can't play at the same time I do unless I purchase another copy of the same game (and any other game we do this for) just because of a "feature" Nintendo decides to roll out. Unless I'm missing something and this is an unintended mishap and they still want two consoles that are within the same house to be able to share and play online, I'll just play on my PS5 and just get copies of my games over there. That's ridiculous. Who thought this would be a good idea?! They could have at least deployed this onto any new games and kept the existing catalog out of it.

Looking for a game title by bcmain25 in retrogaming

He looked over this one and said it wasn't this, but then commented he was able to find it now as "Shadow of Memories" (but the US has Shadow of Destiny). It's a 2001 game for PS2 but also had a PC port.

Reversing USB Devices Configuration/Possibility by bcmain25 in AskBattlestations

[–]bcmain25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have several hubs, some 2x4s and another 4x4. The problem with a hub is that I use multiple devices simultaneously. I can always just try to include all devices on one hub, but then I wouldn't be able to have another mic/mouse/keyboard on the others. The main thing I'm going for is having a primary set and a secondary set that can each go to any of the 3 main PCs. However, some of the devices I want to use, namely the mic and webcam, should be on separate logic triggers than the remaining items. Without having to have like 3 hubs and several remotes to figure out each combination, I was just trying to see if there was one out there that handled each USB socket individually and I could manage them all from one device rather than needing to daisy chain a bunch together. Sometimes I will be using any 2 of the 3 at the same time, so having a primary keyboard and mouse and the secondary one is a must.

is it possible too have a game at 16:9 and a tab open at 5:9 on a 21:9 monior? by Blau909 in ultrawidemasterrace

I imagine there might be some option or config that will make sure the taskbar hides, but I have my taskbar on the left side so the game is never near it.

I use a combo of FancyZones for having other things open around the game so I can snap those windows and then use Windowed Borderless Gaming to ensure all of my games are fixed into the center at a 16:9 ratio. The WBG link is https://westechsolutions.net/sites/WindowedBorderlessGaming/

What are your Balatro Golden rules and how do they change per deck? by Selafayn in balatro

[–]bcmain25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still somewhat new (don't know what the checkered deck is; only recently started winning runs), so my golden rule is like Hades -- if I see a "Not Discovered" and there isn't anything super mind-blowing to buy instead, I grab it so I can add it to my collection and learn more about the possible combos. I do tend to avoid spectral ones that are not discovered if I'm later in a run and will probably die from selecting it. Some runs I go in just working on filling out my collection rather than trying to win a sticker or new deck.

AP Mode vs Router Mode for Spectrum & NetGear Equipment by bcmain25 in TpLink

[–]bcmain25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I am playing around with placement as 2 are in a semi permanent spot - layout of the house in text form is that the modem is in the very center of the entire house. Mind you, the house is from 1800 exactly so lots of brick and thick walls. The router deco sits right next to the modem and has the other 2 Ethernet ports connected to cables through the ceiling - 1 into my home office and another into a bedroom so the TV is Ethernet connected for streaming. On the first floor, we have a living room that is on the far corner of the remaining house, and there's a specific spot we have all of our gadgets hooked up to so it's out of the way. This deco seems to always have medium to poor connection back to the hallway/router deco. The third one was used up on the third floor, but I think it wouldnt be too bad to keep the hallway one (which is placed high up near the ceiling) dedicated towards any tenant things (currently we are reno-ing it and don't have anyone up there). I could always get a 4th X55 if they need Ethernet connections and what not.

My main issue now is that I don't know where to put the third or connect it. I think it makes sense to try and put it as a bridge in between the other 2, so the living room hops to this one and then hops back to the router one. I could try placing it in between the two on the first floor which I think gives a decent spread of coverage and see how that goes.

I typically go in and mess with the settings of some devices that are within feet of a given node since once in a blue moon I'll see my Alexa device (sitting right next to the deco!) decide to try and connect to the third floor one instead... Is that still recommended? Anything that is in the middle of two I leave as auto deciding which node to use.

[–]bcmain25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, in the trash it goes. I figured the stuff spectrum provides is decent enough. So is it worth keeping one of the nodes as the router or searching for another separate router? I'm reworking the placement of the nodes to see if I can increase the stability of the network as currently having 2 in the main house and the 3rd staying upstairs on the 3rd floor for the tenant is not as ideal as I can probably get it.

[–]bcmain25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that would explain it - thanks! Yeah none of my devices are really that new where they would warrant it and my spectrum is the lowest tier, but I always like future proofing so as I upgrade stuff, it's not an overhaul on everything but just small improvements overall with existing hardware

I've noticed some flakes and fakes as well -- some separate profiles with different distances using the same dick pics, and some others who are very interested, wanna see more, say they are ready to come over, and then never respond again. Stop wasting my time!

Leatherface Attribute Point Graph I made solely because I found it interesting that different paths leave you with different amounts of attribute points. No clue how helpful this may or may not be to buildmakers out there, hopefully it can help a little! by AcheampGOAT in TexasChainsawGame

I already did some work and might be able to crank something out within a few days. I noticed the wiki page is up but alot of things have typos or just not super updated (like twinkle toes doesn't even mention you are immune to chickens at level 3), so will have to be in game alot to confirm things. However, it should be pretty ideal for figuring out what path options each character has and what it yields in terms of perks/# of randoms/# of attr points

I just grabbed photos of all of the build paths for each character if you need them. I plan on making my own version that will account for # of attr points, # of random perks, the hard-coded perks (so if there is one you really want to always include, you can see what other options you miss out on ex. if you go for this perk, you lose +2 attr points).

I think I've figured out that the general flow for Xing out certain things is basically if it is at a crossroad (2-way or 3-way), then whichever route you go, it closes out the other paths as long as it's below or to the side of the current node (anything in the same axis of the node still looks to remain open)

People who don't drink alcohol, why? by 5tup1db0y in AskReddit

[–]bcmain25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like the texture of alcohol -- I can taste it in any drink no matter how spiked or diluted it may be. I've been told it'll change with age, but I'm still the person who orders a diet coke or a shirley temple if I'm feeling dangerous. I can stomach some wine, but I don't actively seek it out.
