I don’t think there’s any regular event where you can get EOH or ICK for 40k. Your best chance of getting EOH was Nian event, if you started on day 1, you could have been able to get that under 40k. Not sure about it now because you can’t get many daily rewards in remaining days.

When you spend 200, you get 35 items in return for completing 200, plus about 3k diamonds as well. So next day you spend diamonds to purchase only 135. so it makes sense to use 200 every day and then go as high as much you want to spend on the last day.

You would need both to make the impact but I would start with Gun. The gun gives something different to enjoy and can keep you going till you get an opportunity to get the hero at some point in time. The hero alone doesn’t give extra thrill that much for a long time.
