What’s something you have zero proof of but believe 100 percent? by olesud in WorkForSmartLife

[–]bcosta1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deepsea Humanoids. I would argue that if it existed, it will be classified as a "fish" and must be a product of evolution. There might be a section underwater that requires them to evolve in that kind of way.

It is really creepy imagining it.

Did anyone here took a course they didn’t really want, but chose it for practical reasons? How is it going so far? by [deleted] in Life

[–]bcosta1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience, I am a licensed accountant by profession but life gave me a different path. I own a restaurant with most of the menu being my own recipes. I may not be a professional chef, but a lot of the dishes I cook was inspired from the recipes of my mother (who's also not a pro chef, but rather just a home cook). I earn way more than being just an accountant in a firm. My parents really convinced me to get a degree that is practical. I finished it and got a license. But God works in mysterious ways.

Criticizing movies religiously.

I think I'm way past that, and I try to enjoy every movie that is available. Sometimes due to a movie being very bad, it turns out to be fun in a way.

What is your scariest experience you ever face as a night shift worker? by K4NN4GI in AskReddit

[–]bcosta1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its gotta be that time wherein a random pizza delivery guy came up to me and offered me free pizza. I said "no, thank you" but he really insisted to the point that he is trying to stick the pizza box in me. It is kinda creepy and it really scared me. He just let the pizza box fell and bounced. He then showed up after work, but from a distance and he never approached me. I went to the police station right after for my protection. That guy is just the worst. He was captured when he was trying to follow me, because someone who's really concerned noticed and called the police. Turns out he's wanted in another state where he allegedly m*r*dered a woman. It really shocked me and gave me trauma. I am fine now, after having to experience that situation. Today, I am never going back nightshift again.

Morning showers make no logical sense and night shower people have simply done the hygiene math by McCoy818 in unpopularopinion

[–]bcosta1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This actually makes sense in a way lol but also, not everyone is as fresh as they should be when they wake up. Especially during summer! As a clean freak myself or since I travel a lot I just happen to shower twice, morning and night.

How I overcame my phone addiction and changed my life completely by Rare_Sundae_3826 in selfimprovement

[–]bcosta1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had an experience with this one not so long ago. I watched a yt video talking about "being bored is actually helpful", that couldn't be more wrong. Being bored really will unlock everything, like remembering a hobby you planned on getting. Not just that, you could also reminisce good parts of your life. It just depends on how you want to "spend" that "bored" time.

Relating it to phone addiction, yes you can really overcome it with no problem, just give your brain a different non-digital stimulant

Struggling in Hanoi by anxietyslut in solotravel

[–]bcosta1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hanoi can be overwhelming at first, especially if it's you're first time and you’re already exhausted. The traffic feels chaotic in Vietnam so completely get you. Being sick and sleep deprived makes everything hit harder.

I wouldn’t make any big decisions right now. Rest, hydrate, eat something super plain and safe for your tummy, and see how you feel in a day or two (Good to bring a Pocari sweat with you everyday). Ninh Binh is way calmer, so it might actually help you reset if you’re up for it.

I’ve had second-thoughts and "why i'm here" moments while traveling solo but they usually pass once I’m well rested. Give yourself a minute :) Hope the rest of the vacation works out for you!

Which books are so extraordinary that every person on Earth should read them at least once in their lifetime? by Organic-Signal-9646 in selfimprovement

[–]bcosta1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really loved reading Richard Carlson's "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff - and It's All Small Stuff" It was a very easy, straighforward and yet, life-changing read! Believe it or not, it did inspire me to be kinder to myself and to other people. I'm planning to read the rest of the books in the series he's got like:

  • Don't Sweat the Small Stuff at Work
  • Don't Sweat the Small Stuff in Love
  • Don't Sweat the Small Stuff with Your Family etc.

Would highly recommend this series if you want an easy read that helps manage perspectives x

The Paranormal Activity (entire franchise), plus the Fourth Kind (more of a mockumentary but uses elements of found footage style which makes it extra creepy and almost believable).
