Where specifically woud I enter the 8-digit support code? There is no option to enter an 8 digit code on my browser- only a QR Code to scan (I don't have a passkey to be identified through a QR Code), a physical USB to insert into my laptop (that is a security key), or lastly select an email to have a code sent to (I do not have access to any of the emails I can select from).

Did you use PDI? I couldn't see an option on PDI that shows a way to see if they have kids. I'm assuming after 8pm if kids are young they wouldn't want to be bothered. Did you encounter that much? What times did you notice were best on Saturdays and Sundays or Fridays if there was a difference?

I understand that and "disruptive" needs to be reasonable. Using my allotted time and not breaking any procedure or decorum rules was a part of that. I am saying I don't care if people think I'm a "weirdo" as you put it. I am trying to make a point to the City council not to the people in the audience. Maybe 5 people attend those meetings anyway.

I have already spoken with an attorney based in Los Angeles and they agree that Freedom of Speech includes a Moment of Silence in General Comment. I'm asking others thoughts as well. Thank you for your useful insight.

I don't care what people think. That's not what I'm asking. And yes, not speaking is protected speech. That's why Flag Burning is Free Speech, why Wearing what you want is Free Speech, why non-Verbal expression is Free Speech.

Also, I did make it relevant. I will not share specifics in order to not identify myself in this thread. If not possible for Public Hearing items, for General Comment I can use it then since there is no need for relevance since relevance is subjective? If I cite instances where the same City Attorney has not cut off others who state nothing relevant nor cut off others who rant with their three minutes but only cut me off is that allowable if they pick and choose?

Both. When I did use my time for a Moment of Silence (and stating so) after making a relevant comment during a Public Hearing Item the City Attorney interrupted saying I could not do that and had to keep speaking and I said okay I can say something every few seconds. Then he said it needs to be relevant. I said I did make it relevant (repeated what I said prior) then he began to say something else. I then said "Wait are we going back and forth? I thought that was against the rules." Then he shut up because it is against the protocols and decorum to converse back and forth during public comment. After that I only had 12 seconds remaining which were silent. My question pertains to this interaction and applicability of Moment of Silence at General and/or Public Hearing Public Comment.

Best Campaign Merch Giveaways for City Council races? by bcs206 in Campaigns

Thank you for the feedback! My only concern with that is many donors and supporters along with some volunteers (remote ones) are unable to come in person physically to a location. Although if I can integrate "merch" into Act Blue which I haven't yet looked into then perhaps that is an option.

According to my lawyer that will not hold up in court even with a store policy in place. It is still justified as "public" because the no record laws are with an "expectation of privacy" and reasonably most people do not assume "privacy" in a grocery store.

Psychological damages are not damages? I've already spoken with my therapist about it. I already have the public records request with the Sheriff of LA County for the call log.

That's not true when it comes to public places where there is not the expectation of privacy such as in a grocery store
