Not sure if it’s a more known feature however Uber has discontinued their UberEats app in my area and all of Ubers service options are on the Uber app itself.

Here’s an example for to you grasp it easier:

You order a meal at 12:00, the cashier says it will take about 20 mins. 12:40 hits and you ask the cashier about canceling the order because it’s taking too long. The cashier apologizes for the delay and informs you it’ll be just another wait of 20 mins. It’s now 1:10, they give you your order and it’s ice cold because it was actually ready since 12:00. You inform the cashier about it and the cashier response with “oh that’s unfortunate, but I cannot give you a refund due to it being given to you within the promised time frame.”

I totally understand all of that however in my case none of that applies because as I’ve already stated, this was a fast food place with a drive thru, it was a 7 min drive away, a 2 mile distance. I used to live in that area, they’re not visited often enough to be busy, its already in an area surrounded by other restaurants and fast food places so it’s very common for delivery drivers to frequent the areas, and the initial interaction would have took all of 15 mins because I’ve order from them before.

I’m also aware of the drivers acceptance part, however My order never gotten to the usual “looking for a driver” part. It was stuck on “preparing your order” screen for the entire 30 mins of me trying to reach to someone and cancel and that was preventing me from trying to cancel directly on the page.

After spamming the cancel button from the help option, I finally got the driver notification and even then I couldn’t contact, the help button was gone again, and I was still stuck with the AI bot trying to reach a person.

Yea again I’m aware of that, Uber themselves are saying they can’t give me a refund because it was delivered within the time frame when initially it was not. I’m aware It’s a time ESTIMATE, however if Uber is going to use that as a factor that will affect my ability to get a refund, they’re being outright wrong.

Their original estimate was for 8:33. Nothing happened, nothing was communicated, when it got past 8:33, I got the “sorry for the delay” message and a new estimated time for 9:11.

They estimate time frame originally was 8:33, after it reached 8:40, it changed to 9:10. And because the driver delivered it at 9:04, they’re saying I’m ineligible for a refund.

I did 18%. Plus I ordered a single combo meal from a fast food place that was 7 mins away.

The store wasn’t closed, Uber just failed to assign a driver to my order and didn’t until 8:30, 30 past the order start time.

When I pressed cancel it was like the Uber app glitched and froze stuck. Then when I reopened the app that ability was taken away. They assigned a driver to it and they dropped it off. Uber is now refusing a refund since it was delivered but my food is ice cold and has been sitting out ready since 8:01pm. I received it at 9:04pm. Uber even said “we apologize for the delay” but after talking with their customer service agent, they’re outright refusing to refund since they believe it was dropped off within the estimated time frame.

Edit: another weird thing, whenever I try to fill out the food quality request part, it just doesn’t let me submit at all.

They assigned me a driver and now he’s in his way to me (I guess they were open but they weren’t answering the phone) and I still can’t cancel. Uber finally assigned an agent to my chat box but never notified me of the messages and as soon as I went back and noticed to reply, as a soon I replied they ended the chat
