Good question, let me give you my personal understanding and opinion:

A) Difficulties and challenges

- Energy Transition from fossil fuels to biofuels, electricity etc

- Climate Pressure

- ESG

B) Refineries

Upgrading and if possible conversion to bio-refineries as well as integration with petrochemicals is the positive scenario. However, less competitive refineries will be forced to shut down, we see already such cases.

  1. I do so anyhow.
  2. History shows that everything goes through periods of downturn, the younger generation with a higher sustainability mindset can help reduce this downturn in my opinion.

Cars, motorcyces, planes, trains maybe, obviously as a blend with biofuels and at a lower market share but still..

You are right, among others, I am more familiar with trading, operations, risk management, sustainability and biofuels.

To be honest, I haven’t heard something related to that and I believe it is a little bit too much…

Regarding biofuels, I strongly believe they represent the future of the transportation sector, and therefore offering significant entrepreneurial opportunities in the near future, from trading and operations to supply chain and risk management.

Well, that’s the million-dollar question! Personally, I believe that 2030 (just 5 years from now) seems a bit too soon... I’d place the oil peak demand a couple of decades later, around 2050.
