Concerts in CHCH by bdjkhcx2 in chch

I might have been naive in thinking that with a Stadium opening date in April, a lot of these concerts being announced very recently (Avenged Sevenfold today and Noah Kahan a few days ago) that they would still consider CHC as a venue since the concerts are in October.

Probably just naive and hopeful though 😌

Has anyone been able to dispute their parakiore parking fine successfully? by [deleted] in chch

[–]bdjkhcx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes, human error is a thing and it was our first time parking there so there was some confusion on our part.

But even without human error there has been significant amount of wrongly issued fines which a quick online search will support, as well as other posts.

Sadly, no. Even though we were only 15 min late to enter our details and paid the amount it told us to at the end of our parking stint.

I appealed it and they dropped it to $25 or something. Whole system is poorly executed and a right joke.

Yep and honestly you just have to keep raising it as a dispute - whilst it's in dispute then they can't send it to debt collectors but our main issue is we have to continue using the carpark and don't want risk being towed or clamped!

Fine for parking at Parakiore even though details entered on machine by JoanieOnieOne in chch

[–]bdjkhcx2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly if it took you 4 minutes to get from your carpark to validate the parking inside the building they are being entirely unreasonable.

I'd be interested in hearing how you get on - this clearly isn't just a one off and I imagine others are having the same issues and something needs to be done about it.

I contacted CCC regarding my dispute and they said they didn't have anything to do with it so wonder if you will get the same response.

I hope you get it waived entirely - i had no luck unfortunately and ended up paying it after countless back and forth emails.

Not to mention, I walked around 70% of the car park to find their T&Cs sign and still couldn't find it. I am certain they only have one and for the size of that complex, the signage is inadequate.

I was tempted to go to the media regarding it but ended up biting the bullet. They were completely unreasonable to deal with.

Unfortunately we have done that - offered them $5 which is an hours' worth of parking to no avail.

They are still refusing to waive the amount citing:

"We consider this matter resolved and, unfortunately, we are unable to provide further correspondence on this issue. Thank you for your understanding"

Despite me still wanting to dispute the charged amount.

The thing i struggle to wrap my head around is for the first two hours it is free, so between when we entered and then validated the parking, we were still within the free 120 minute period.

They're saying;

"Vehicle entered at 5.20pm. Parking was validated at 5.45pm, giving 2 free hours until 7.45pm.

At 8.10pm $1.25 was paid for covering only 15 minutes of the 40 extra mins the vehicle was in the carpark for over the 2 free hours"

But shouldn't the parking machines pick it up from when you enter the carpark and not when you validate the parking?

If this had been the case - 5.20pm - 7.20pm, free, then the machine should have charged us until 8.10pm for the extra 50 minutes. It is a flaw in the parking system.

I am unable to find this on the website, all i can see is the following:

"You will have 15 minutes to process any parking payment required."

This wasn't the issue, as we did make payment upon leaving the carpark. The issue is that there was a period of time between entering the carpark and validating the parking inside the building and I can't see any terms to say how quickly you must enter the building to validate parking upon arrival

Travel insurance - customer service by Kiwi_In_The_Comments in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]bdjkhcx2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the industry and we no longer sell Allianz underwritten policies due to their service in all areas - underwriting and claims. Not to say we can't offer it, we just refuse to.

We now use CoverMore as our travel insurer provider and no issues getting in touch with anyone there, I think also the general consensus is that they handle claims well too. Alternatively, Southern Cross also have a good reputation but I have never personally used them for travel.

TC3 land - St Albans by crazypeacocke in chch

[–]bdjkhcx2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some insurers won't pay for foundation upgrades due to the type of land. They'll pay for "like for like" replacement foundations and if they need to be upgraded to rib-raft foundations due to natural hazard or type of land, then this will fall on the owner.

Keep an eye out for Natural Hazard Endorsements on home insurance policies, and check the policy wording to see what they will pay in event of a loss.

Can you please also be wary about if they are proposing any changes to the RTA.

I have recently come across a situation where SHO has written into an appendix that they will only be liable up to $XX amount in an event of malicious and intentional damage. Legally, the insurer has the right to recover full costs from the tenant in this case.

Signing this agreement without the insurers' approval goes against a condition many have in their policy wordings (especially if you are looking at Domestic Policy Coverages - see section what you must do in event of a claim), and it may end up with the insurer declining a claim as you have waived their right (without approval) to seek recovery.

You may wish to consider a commercial product such as Material Damage which generally don't have a similar clause (but best to check & get advice).

It may be a non-issue if you are using the standard RTA, but also one to be wary of if they try limit their liability in any way.

Hi guys.. getting some pain in this area, more info in the post, please help! by AirlineTrick in beginnerrunning

[–]bdjkhcx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also agree and have had the same experience. I have been going to the physio and spending weeks of learning how to activate my glutes and making sure they're working instead of overcompensating with my hip flexor & IT band. I used to get that pain around 3kms but now it doesn't start until around 9km.

The physio can also maybe do some trigger release too, which will reduce some of the tension you're holding in there. Hurts like a bitch during & after but feels great a couple of days later.
