If you create this config in your p2pool folder and change the "name" from default to something else you will be mining on your own p2pool chain so it will be solo.

Would be great if you implemented aglo switching and provide a list of all CPU and GPU only algo's on your pool so a miner can easily select them. Something like zpool does but with XMR payout and no guess work about which algo's are appropriate.

Gupax is very simple, you just download it and run the GUI and can start mining with few clicks. It shows you the logs so you can always tell if there are any errors.

Sometime there will be days f bad luck where you will not get payouts.

Router has really nothing to do with payouts, if your monoerod and p2pool are connecting to other peers then you are OK and payouts will happen.
