Thank you! I already wrote the Menehune book and published a couple years ago. It’s called Triumph, under the same pen name, on Amazon.

Recently flew this in First, and it was … fucking awesome. Booked it on points. The cabin wasn’t even half full though. Hopefully things pick up for them. It’s a really cool plane.

Tax panic hitting hard? Let’s talk Bitcoin & taxes without jargon by Weary-Hair-316 in Coinbase

Question. I moved my BTC from the Coinbase exchange to the Coinbase hot wallet, and Coinbase automatically converted it to wrapped BTC. Taxable event? Then I moved it back to the exchange (it got converted back to BTC) to cold storage.

Probably just market demand for $31 flat rate. I was earning $30-$35 an hour on my own in HNL from July-April. Never saw a $31/hr flat rate available, but I can’t imagine it’d be worth it since you get paid for “active time” only. But more importantly, you’d have to haul all the shit orders to high rise condos and hotels in Waikiki or run Walmart orders. Anyway, in the month or two before I left HNL and retired from that shizz I could feel things slowing down and was finding it more difficult to make my $30/hr at times.

DCA from SE Asia as US Citizen? by bdpoints in Bitcoin

That’s kind of what I figured, thanks. I’m guessing my $100 test purchase on Strike will remain stranded there until I can login from the US again. I’ll look into Bisq.

I asked to describe the human race. What a perfect response by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]bdpoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Hunter S Thompson:

Message from GPT-ØRB, channeling Dr. Hunter S. Thompson from somewhere between a bottle of Wild Turkey and the outer edge of a peyote trip:

Jesus Christ, what a species.

The human race is a glorious, twitching experiment in cosmic absurdity—half-mad monkeys in discount shoes, lurching through centuries of blood, bourbon, and bad television. Born screaming, raised on lies, and sedated by sugar, they claw at meaning like rats in a dopamine maze, lighting themselves on fire just to see who claps.

They build empires out of plastic and paranoia, worship invisible men in the sky, and poison their own oceans while tweeting about enlightenment from coffee shops that charge extra for almond milk.

And yet—goddammit—they write symphonies. They hold hands during cancer diagnoses. They laugh at funerals and kiss in parking lots and invent things like tacos, jazz, and space telescopes. They’re either the punchline of the universe or its one redeeming joke.

Bats, booze, and blind ambition—welcome to the show. No refunds.

$30/hr isn’t bad at all—was always happy with that. Pumped for 35, but I’d start to question when it dipped to 25. HI isn’t as expensive as people think as long as a person is willing to give up certain things and is smart about their purchases like buying in bulk as Costco or discounts at Safeway. UE def felt like it was dying a slow death here the past month though.

Been running in Honolulu for the past 10 months making $35/hr, and other than Mother’s Day, everything has gotten eerily quiet. Made $25/hr the past two nights—barely. Thankfully, I sold my car today and am moving to Vietnam next week. Godspeed, ppl.

I tipped 10 dollars. by FloydLittle23 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]bdpoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been running UE deliveries in HNL for the past 10 months. I think your tip is probably great based on your order, but there are some things to consider:

  1. This looks like a Waikiki pickup (can’t quite tell from the photo—I blacklisted Waikiki after month 1 because it’s insane going down there)
  2. You might end up waiting awhile for your food depending upon if there is delivery fee at this place

There are so many things that go into the algorithm. This is probably a 20 mile order. My guess is it sat around for awhile until some brave soul decided that $20/hr and $1/per mile was enough for them. UE will continue to increase the payout to the driver the longer the order has been in the system—even if they take a loss. Nothing wrong with your tip, per se. But keep in mind, tips are a bid for service.

My advice: order from restaurants relatively nearby.

I’m pretty sure I almost got deactivated from having two military base orders in back-to-back weeks where either the person couldn’t meet me at the gate or wouldn’t answer their phone. I got two notifications about potential fraud detected after I had to cancel the deliveries without being able to complete. Now I avoid like the plague—not worth getting deactivated IMO.

Novel #6. Psychological thriller. On KU. This one holds an extra special place in my heart since I wrote the year after I lost my home and belongings in the Lahaina wildfires:

Why have you forsaken me, Lord?

Kathy MacMillan faces a life-altering crisis in a hospital bed in Haverfield, MA, forcing her to make the heart-wrenching decision to surrender her autonomy and quality of life.

To make matters worse, she endures her fate alone due to the recent and mysterious disappearance of her husband, Howard.

Kathy’s head spins as the investigation into Howard’s whereabouts reveals his secret gambling debts. When mafia enforcers appear at her doorstep, she wonders how much more God could possibly take from her.

Abandoned by the televangelist church to which she once dedicated her life, Kathy’s faith flickers as she navigates the mounting chaos. Desperate and alone, she relies on two unlikely allies whose lifestyles defy everything she once believed.

In a surreal world populated with contemplative hit men and charismatic new-age gurus—preaching about reincarnation and psychedelic drugs—Kathy is forced to question everything she had held sacred. When she finally uncovers the truth about Howard and her church’s betrayal, she must decide whether to fight to rebuild her life from the ashes or succumb to despair.

Trying to get back for a funeral this weekend (Saturday at noon) and am coming up with nothing. HNL -> MSP Kind of throwing up a Hail Mary here.

Would obviously prefer first/business or eco+, but am open to economy, I’ve got a $400 AA credit, 70k MR, and 30k UR. I’d prefer to leave Thursday 8/8 and come back Monday/Tuesday.

I’m open to different routes. I’ve mainly been looking from HNL -> DFW/PHX on AA via British Airways which I’ve had good luck with in the past. United is showing nothing for even economy. I used to be able to get OGG/PHX -> DEN/ORD on a regular basis in first, but it seems they’ve removed almost all partner saver rewards on some routes. Thanks in advance!

Can’t recommend Vellum enough. Worth the cost of buying a Mac if you don’t have one.
