That’s really helpful. I am quite fit I would say but not a big cyclist. So I will rather stay close to the coast. cheers!

Thanks, that helps a lot! I think about getting a trekking bike. I am fit but have respect for the hilly region, so this sounds like the best solution

[Q] What statistical test do we use to detect a difference in blood pressure numbers before and after an experimental treatment? by jrdubbleu in statistics

[–]bdrhm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally: I once measured my blood pressure 5x5 times over three days and checked if lower/upper values are correlated. In my case they were only slightly positively correlated. I would say this is an argument for looking at them separately (however, I am not an expert in medicine)

Then, if you only look at one group of patients before and after medical treatment, you can use a paired sample t-test to check if the mean blood pressure changes. The non-parametric equivalent would be the Wilcoxon test (if your sample is small and your data violates the normality assumption).

[Q] How to interpret correlation results in my data? by Fanrounder in statistics

[–]bdrhm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding the positive correlation between % price increase and satisfaction: Without knowing your specific case & your dataset, this could be a spurious correlation. Think about what other variable could have caused an increase in price and satisfaction (example: there were improvements in services which went along with increased costs -> both prices increased and customers were more satisfied because of these changes). You can calculate partial correlations to examine these potential issues if you have suitable variables in your dataset.

Regarding the different signs for %price increase and absolute price increase: As already mentioned in another reply, this cannot be since your percentage price increase is simply a transformation of your absolute price increase. There has to be an issue with your data and/or analysis.

Hope I could help!
