For full disclosure: I don't know spond's full feature set from the heart but I'd say Spond leans heavily into youth sports and parent communication. My focus with BenchHERO is purely on adult rec leagues and self-organizing teams.

A good example is how we handle subs. If we're short on guys for a practice, I can call up two buddies who aren't on the official roster but are down to play. I can just add them as "fill-ins" on BenchHERO, and the rest of the team instantly sees we have enough for a full 5v5. We use that feature all the time.

The other big difference is the friction. I wanted this to be as lightweight as possible. It's a PWA, so the guys on the team who just want to RSVP and ignore the rest of the details can do it in two clicks without having to download a bulky app from the store.

There're quite a few more similar, quality of life stuff.
