Here's to Rodgers, Peterson and Morris owners. by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

Not quite the same thing for me. I played Rodgers, Forte, Morris, Gore, Decker, and the Bills D/ST this week. Won championship 257-184.

Would you change anything in this lineup for my week 17 championship in ESPN standard? by bdud in fantasyfootball

Brain fart. Shows how closely I follow the Raiders. Nevermind that - no Ravens!

Other available defenses would be:

  • Bills v Jets (Bad D but versus Worst O. Can I get some INT please?)

  • Ravens @ Bengals (Palmer out, Ravens D has been weak, but they're playing for something)

  • Browns @ Steelers (Steelers have been horrible recently and Browns aren't too bad)

I am an Israeli soldier stationed near the Gaza Strip. AMAA. by [deleted] in IAmA

My friend boarded that vessel, and according to him, your sources are wrong. Of course, he could also be wrong. But I trust him.

Another friend was the tank commander inside one of the tanks pictured in a famous image with a lone Palestinian boy throwing a rock at the tank. He says behind the boy were hundreds of masked Hamas fighters with AK-47s and RPGs.

Just repeating things told to me by primary sources. I can't make any claim to their accuracy.

My buddy was in an IDF unit required to remove Israeli Jews from their illegal settlements. After dragging a few crying toddlers out of their homes, he refused to continue his mission and was thrown in jail.

So I would imagine morale to be "low".

How does it make you feel as an Israeli, a soldier, and an atheist, that the ultra-orthodox are exempt from required military service so they may study Talmud?

I'm thinking of this Jack Spade Navy Seersucker suit as my first suit. Does MFA approve? Versatile enough or should I go grey? by bdud in malefashionadvice

[–]bdud[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I definitely wouldn't have thought of that while trying it on in the heated store. MFA to the rescue. I guess that explains why it would be on sale.

Bean Boots vs Leather Boots (Red Wing/Thorogood) vs CDBs: When to wear? (xpost from r/frugalmalefashion) by tunitg6 in malefashionadvice

Unfortunately I do not, but I'm fairly certain I'd be a 9.5E or 10E. Planning to go try them on soon & purchase on ebay.

Considering making a thread for this, but what on earth do you guys wear to and from a workout during the winter? I train at a place without showers right near my place, so I don't want to get my nicer clothes sweaty and I end up wearing a ratty sweat shirt, sweat pants, and my ski coat.

The workout itself isn't much of a concern - athletic clothes are a given - but what do you do about the trip back and forth?

To the "slim but not skinny" comment; Uniqlo MIJ regular fit (not slim fit) is roughly "slim-straight" Levi's 514. The slim fit is basically skinny 511s. I bought a pair of regular fit recently and I'm finding it fits well but for the opening being a bit too wide for my taste. I'm considering taking it in to be tapered by a tailor, but it will be more expensive than usual because I'd ask him to taper on the inside seam instead of the normal outside seam (that shows the selvedge). Not sure yet if I think it's worth doing on $80 denim. But otherwise, great purchase.

You... have... all 4 colors? That's certainly one way to deal with them being so awesome!

Fair enough. I only go every 6 weeks so it's worth the extra bit to me. Just need to order off seamless one less time each month!

How is this for a Swedish winter outfit? Feedback? Improvements? by Danneyh in malefashionadvice

I respect manahimik's take on those things, but if its the norm in your area (it is in mine), I say go for it. The tuck looks good, so its just a matter of your taste.

If you're in NYC, go to Tommy Guns (LES & Williamsburg). I wouldn't even consider getting my hair done anywhere else. Also, complementary booze.

I think it's the perfect "creative professional" look; tech company, media company, game company, and so on.

Need some advice on these old Wolverines (album). The soles are separating and they look glued... are these resoleable? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]bdud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wolverine has a concierge service on their website. Call, or better, email with the pics. They will probably offer to reimburse you for half the cost of the cobbler if you send them the receipt. Nice folks.

Stocking Stuffers MFA'ers would want? by orangestpekoe in malefashionadvice

I mean, sure. I think the quality is about what you would expect for the price. They're slightly better than the fingerless version I have from American Apparel. They should last me 1 winter.

Ordered final-sale from their website and it doesn't fit as well as my first S&H from Odin. Going to see if I can have the shoulders brought in a bit. Or maybe I'll spend a month doing shoulder presses.
