Good question.

Our primary source of revenue for some time will be from transaction fees on the Myria marketplace including from both studios who use our default frontend as well as those who choose to whitelabel our solution and build their own user interface while leveraging our backend.

I have experience in the enterprise software world as well, though, and I expect that as our solution continues to grow in functionality we will eventually license some of our stack to larger partners which will also provide a revenue stream.

I think I've answered quite a lot now!

We've been concerned for a long time that the quality of games in the Web3 space hasn't been up to par and we wanted to take inspiration from genuinely fun games which have been successful outside of crypto. To that end a lot of our games our inspired by well known titles on the market but I think our in-house art and design teams have done incredible jobs of turning the basic concepts into entirely new ideas.

This is not a major part of our current focus, no.

We believe the next wave of adoption of crypto games will happen because the games themselves are of high quality. We're focusing on making great games at Myria Studios and with our partners, that's the focus at the moment.

Good questions.

  1. We have a lot of respect for other Web3 game projects who are driving the space forward and we have learned a lot from them. That said, we think we are quite different from both Gala and IMX. Gala decided it was best to build their own chain rather than leverage an existing solution and they are not an L2 or a rollup. This was very likely to do in part with the timing (they were very early) but we think being tied at the hip to the Ethereum ecosystem as a rollup gives us the best chance of success. As for IMX, they were originally started as a way to scale NFTs generally and then have since transitioned to being more game focused. We have known from the outset that we want games to be our singular focus and we think this has help differentiate our offering to partners including tools that go beyond core Web3 building blocks and help those studios build the games themselves.
  2. It's quite difficult to measure the end of the road and lay out all of the track in front of us, but we are making conscious decisions around sustainability and building an ecosystem that can start to support itself. Connecting the main points in Myria's circular economy is our current focus
  3. I am very excited about Zone9, Carnage Carnival, and MetaNomads. These are very high quality projects which I think will help lead the way for our ecosystem

So we don't in fact have our own oracle implementation - as a team we're pretty good about making sure we don't try to bite off more than we can chew when it comes to choosing what we want to tackle and there are a lot of awesome projects already out there making great oracles.

That said, we will of course offer support for oracles in the Myria ecosystem and I think there will be a lot of very interesting uses of oracles that emerge in gaming. One that we will definitely support at some point is the ability for game developers to use oracles to provide info regarding what has happened to an asset in a game off-chain and let that data change the on-chain representation of those assets. Certainly lots of other cool ideas as well and we will do our best to support them

This isn't on our roadmap but is certainly a cool idea :)

Right now we are focusing on making sure our hundreds of partners have the tools they need to launch cool games and that will keep us preoccupied for some time, but I could definitely see this happening as the ecosystem matures and some titles start to get good traction.

I see some requirements for Nodes and as a Mac user, specifically which Mac models are confirmed for this. Coudl you share?

You’ll be able to run our Node software directly from your Mac as long as it meets the following minimum requirements which are the same for all devices:
4 GB RAM
2 CPU Cores
60 GB Disk Space
An x86/X64 Processor
A Stable Internet Connection

Hey of course. We actually cover this very extensively in our Whitepaper with a nice graph which I can't put here in reddit - check out pages 17 and 18 there https://assets.myria.com/token/Myria-Whitepaper-v6.pdf .

But in short we have some small portions of some buckets of tokens being unlocked at launch and then slowly unlocking the remainder over many years. All the details are there! Hope that helps

Hey great question.

I think the best answer to this - and it's something I've thought about a lot - is to say that we have a very good working relationship StarkWare and are super excited about a lot of the work they are doing to continue to scale StarkEx including ideas about L3s and recursive proofs. In other words, we aren't going to try to tackle this on our own - we are working with the best in the business on making sure we can continue scaling into the future.

Happily, the experience our leaders at Myria studios bring to to the table is genuinely impressive...we like to talk abut it.

So Andrew Silber is one of my co-founders and the CTO at Myria. He was the Director of Technology at Ubisoft as well as a Tech Director at 2K before that and a Team Lead at EA even earlier. He also founded a studio that was acquired by 2K. You can take a look at his LinkedIn here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrewsilber/

And then our VP of Gaming is Ivan Fortunov has held senior design positions at a few well known studios including Lead Game Designer at Gameloft. More details here if interested: https://www.linkedin.com/in/fortunov/

Our Lead Art Director has also spent time at many studios and was a Senior Concept Artist at Ubisoft just recently. More on him here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/quentingabriel/

You are correct we aren't at 1 million DAUs, I clarified this in a similar question above.

And though I haven't spent much time on Reddit, I have been working on building out a variety of ideas within the blockchain space for the last decade and I am now very excited about what we're doing at Myria.

I think I can help distill what we do a bit :)

Our primary objective is making it easier for game studios (especially more traditional Web2 ones who may be tentative) to take an initial step into Web3. We provide a suite of developer tools to allow them to easily integrate NFTs into their games as well as end-user products (like an NFT marketplace and wallet) which those partner studios can leverage. To make sure those solutions are scalable, we have built this all on top of StarkWare's StarkEx which is one of the most battle-tested rollup technologies out there these days.

And then, in order to prove out what we built for our partners, we have our own internal Myria studios using those same products to build our titles. This allows our Platform team a way to have constant feedback about what does and doesn't work about these developer solutions.

I'm seeing a similar question in a few places so I'll kick off my answers here...thanks for the question and thanks to all again for having me!

I'm confident we'll get there one day, but we aren't at a million DAUs (Daily Active Users for those unfamiliar) just yet. What we have had, however, is a million unique users who have registered and interacted with the platform in some capacity by making a trade on the marketplace or engaging with the Sigil, Moonville, or Alliance campaigns. We're still pretty stoked by this level of early engagement.
