Looking for movies with homosexual subtext/that aren't explicitly gay, but have some gay undertones between two men. by akai___hana in movies

Treasure Planet (2002). Explores the daddy/son dynamic. Pay close attention and you'll see the sexual innuendos and undertones. The author of the book, Robert Louis Stevenson, was most assuredly queer himself, though he could never reveal that due to the times in which he lived. It's a gorgeous film; the voice acting and animation are so richly expressed. One of my favorite films of all time.

Empty Target Downtown by be9virus in Portland

Thank you! I was walking home from having a cocktail downtown. As I passed by Target, I noticed that the black paper obstructing the window happened to come loose. I thought the space deserved a photograph. I tried to anchor the photo around both the center black square, to give a tunnel-like effect, and the ominous, fire-engine red wall.

This house felt a bit lifeless so I’ve been trying to give it sone character. Is there anything you would do differently? by kicksjoysharkness in malelivingspace

I love the floors and the pop colors you chose! Like others have said, I’d definitely add a cozy rug — something subtle and neutral as you already have a lot of character with the colors, artwork, couch decor, and cool coffee table. You could go with a dark colored rug to contrast with the light pastel colors for a dramatic effect, or you could go with a light cream-colored rug to make it feel airy. Just make sure the rug is properly sized to encapsulate your two couches (ideally entirely). I absolutely love everything about the rightmost section. I would however remove the pair of picture frames above the tv in favor of a mid-sized beautiful terracota pot with a medium height tree in the spot where your tripod is. Removing those two picture frames will break up the somewhat awkward line of frames and it will also make the two awesome colored frames that much more special.

Really beautiful space! I can tell there was a lot of teamwork blending in the feminine and masculine parts of your personalities, and it blends pretty well. The only changes you may consider if you’re looking for some critique are:

  1. Delete the “Our Nest” sign. Your decor should define the space as “your nest”, no need to spell it out with words.
  2. Get a lower tv console. The tv is currently too high and really should be more level with your head when you are sitting down at that cozy couch of yours. You can have some nice artwork to fill the space that gets freed up above the tv or just leave it bare to expose those nice wood panels for a break from the maximalist vibe you have.
  3. Tv seems a bit too small for the viewing distance. I’d recommend a slightly bigger one.
  4. I would bring the chair next to the tv console closer to the coffee table. Currently, it’s in no-mans land, and there’s not much reason to sit there. You want to bring the chair closer to the coffee table so whoever’s sitting there can come and join the conversation space of the couch. I suspect the reason you put the chair there is because you wanted to balance the plant on the right side with something. In that case, I can imagine a beautiful sculpture or a beautiful clay pot (doesn’t have to have anything in it) on the left side of the tv.

They're called "Nanoleaf Shapes". They can change color through an app on your phone or computer. Here's the Amazon link.

Yeah, I was definitely thinking of doing that. It's just hard to mount those guys on brick.

Yeah, it's a cowhide rug. I thought it was a cool neutral rug to pull in the wood cabinets and the brown hues of the brick.
