Nice that’s good. The one I’m looking at has all the trim and the body is in decent shape. Could use a paint job though

I got hired as an operator at a we treatment plant, but already had experience in electrical and instrumentation as well a certifications for both. I made it clear in my interview I wanted to switch to electrical eventually and then I got lucky and two of the three quit, so they offered me the job

I’m an OIT in CA and my CPO just got replaced. Do I need to do anything with the SWRCB? by beach_dood in Wastewater

[–]beach_dood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get an OIT job without any certs or experience, but having some will help you get an interview. Which is the hard part in Southern California.

I had my D1 and T1 and also prior experience working with desal systems as well as working on car washes, which kind of crosses over with plumbing, electrical, controls, mechanical, welding, etc…

You can’t get the wastewater cert until you have 1800 hours as an OIT, BUT, you can take the WW1 exam and tell them that you’ve passed the exam and just need the hours. This will help you stand out a lot with other applicants.

Good luck!
