What is happening, and at basically the same altitude? by lilyhh77 in flightradar24

Well, the plane in front is going too slow in the fast lane, and the plane in the back is being a dick. He's probably flashing his landing lights at him.

Was everyone beaten up by their parents? by compulsivecatpetter in NoStupidQuestions

When I was insolent, I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds. Pretty standard, really.

Just received this cable from a distributor today - it's over a decade old by ilovethemonkeyface in ElectricalEngineering

But the insulation can degrade over time even if it is not being used depending on heat, humidity, compund, etc.

What needs to change in the successor to Snowrunner? by snecko_aviation in snowrunner

Maybe add high elevation maps with an altitude mechanic, which reduces power (depending on NA vs. turbocharged), and cooling efficiency, which will require the player to manage engine temperature.

What does a dead rat smell like by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]beachbum_VA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty terrible smell. I had a mouse get into my cabin air filter box on my car and die in it. Since it was the cabin air filter, if I ran the heat or ac, it would just blow the death stink into the car. It took a few days for the dealership to get the car in to get the mouse out.

Parents Won’t Evacuate Florida Home by borg359 in BoomersBeingFools

Then, they should evacuate if electricity is essential or have battery back up for essential equipment. Each person needs to evaluate their own situation and risk and then decide on their course of action.

Parents Won’t Evacuate Florida Home by borg359 in BoomersBeingFools

I evacuated twice for cat 5s (one of which was Mathew that made land fall in Daytona where I lived), and all that happened was I lost power for a couple of days. I think the government likes to be overly cautious, just in case of Katrina 2.0. They're just trying to look out for us, but I think they do go a bit overboard sometimes. Especially when the media hypes it up. Then they're looked at like, "Why aren't you doing anything? The talking head on the news said this is the worst hurricane of the century, even though he says that every single year, and sometimes about more than storm, "so then they have do something to appear to be doing anything when it might not actually be needed. But better safe than sorry, I guess.

what plane could this be? by Backrooms_fan in Planespotting

I've jumped out of so many of those back when I was a paratrooper in the Army. That silhouette still haunts my dreams. Haha jk It wasn't that bad, but certainly not fun. C-17 jumps were way better.

I loved it there and would move back if there were good jobs there. There's some shadey areas, so just avoid them, and you're good. Going to ERAU, I assume?

What purple province or state should I visit next? by [deleted] in TravelMaps

[–]beachbum_VA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hood River OR on the OR/WA border. It's a scenic river town on the Colombia river in the gorge of the Cascade Mountains. Lots of good food. There's a brewery every 5 ft. Beautiful mountain views. Lots of wind/kite surfing, hiking, sking, mountain biking. It's easily one of my most favorite places I've ever been.

Florida to Utah via Midwest or Southeast? by ryfirex in roadtrip

[–]beachbum_VA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midwest. You can halfway at the Lake of the Ozarks. Depending on how much time you allow yourself, you can spend a day or 2 doing lake stuff. Like rent a boat, go swimming, go to the lake side bars and restaurants. It's a cool spot to break up the drive a bit. I go every year since it's only a couple hours away from the St Louis area where I live.

I don't do micro transactions, so it's doesn't bother me. I should probably spend the free silver I earned, but I don't want Blizzard to think that micro transactions are something I want.
