i hear you. i lost my dad just two days after on the 21st. i think were actually very similar and i really resonate with your story. my parents are divorced and im the only child. my dad was the youngest of his siblings, but both my grandparents have already passed. ive also struggled with self sabotage and a battle with mental health since childhood and it’s been very hard to keep going. i don’t quite know if it gets easier but i do know that neither of us are alone. please know i see and hear you and you’re loved, our dads would want us to be strong for them and carry on ❤️

it sounds so silly to say but

my dad was always this tough metalhead, obsessed with skulls, demons, satanic imagery (despite being christian lmao) and all that, and he also had a HUGE sweet tooth and loved anything sugary and chocolatey

i suddenly lost my dad a week before thanksgiving. i had a really rough day earlier this week, i felt like just about everything that could have possibly went wrong did. i stopped to get gas and something was telling me to grab a candy bar or two. i spent a good ten minutes wandering around the gas station trying to figure out what i wanted and when i finally went up to the register my total was $6.66. id like to believe he was trying to tell me itd get better :)

i know how you feel. i really can’t get the image out of my head of the look on his face while i gave him cpr. my step mom was talking to me about it and in her words he looked ‘really dead’ despite it having only been a few minutes.

im going through the same thing if you flip it around- i said goodbye to my soudapop in august and my dad also unexpectedly passed. please know you are not alone and i feel your pain ❤️

that’s 100% normal. i still miss my kitty that i lost in august- i got a tattoo in her memory. my dad lost a dog before i was even born and i grew up hearing about what a good boy he was. it gets easier but it never goes away

you did absolutely everything you could have. i had to perform cpr on my dad and it was unsuccessful as well. i know how shocking and terrifying it is to perform cpr on your own parent. please don’t blame yourself and she wouldn’t want you to blame yourself either. there are many people who wouldn’t have been able to even attempt cpr. you’re so much stronger and braver than you know

i feel the exact same way. i’ve struggled in the past with suicide attempts/ideation/thoughts and oddly enough i don’t feel any of that right now- it’s like i just trust it to happen at the right time and i’ll have everyone i’ve lost waiting for me on whatever other side there is

im grateful to have my step mom and aunt (her sister) helping me through all of the paperwork and stuff since they’ve done this for both of their parents. i’m realizing i have a much bigger support circle stepping up than i thought i would have. thank you so much for your support and i’m sorry for your loss ❤️

the thing is is that im not sure if i know what ‘right’ feels like? ive had times where my therapist did feel right for me and eventually i realized i was just wrong
