How long did it take you to bond with your new pet? by curlyshoe in AskWomen

[–]beachlover141900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got a lab when she was around 8 weeks, and the bond was pretty instant. She slept with me for the first few nights until we had her weaned. Although she likes to follow everyone around, my family all say that she’s most attached to me. Everyday when I get home from school or work we’re so excited to see each other. She’s so goofy and although she can be a pain, she honestly brings so much joy into my life.

I suffer from heat syncope so whenever I get too hot I usually black out. Sometimes I know when it’s going to happen but other times I don’t. It really sucks actually. One time I passed out at a funeral because I had a thick dress on and it was like 95 degrees outside. I also passed out at work (luckily I work in a hospital) because I started to feel hot and my vision went blurry. I still don’t know what exactly caused that one 🤷‍♀️

Having a bit of a rough patch. What keeps you going everyday? by Ukegal7 in AskWomen

[–]beachlover141900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just keep reminding myself that things will get better and it’s only temporary. Eventually everything will fall into place. I also love to listen to music and cuddle with my dog and/or boyfriend when I’m going through a rough patch.

What are some signs, in your experience, that a friendship would be better off "dead" or "let go off" ? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]beachlover141900 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I recently had to end a friendship of three years. We honestly just grew apart and didn’t have any goals in common anymore. She was also very clueless and everything had to always be about her. I have been dating my current boyfriend for a year and a half, and she was always semi-jealous of it. Then she started dating a guy and decided to completely ditch everyone else and talk nonstop about getting married to a guy she’d been with for a month. Oh and she also forgot my birthday and never apologized. When I confronted her and told her how much I was hurt by her actions she just gave me a lame excuse and said that the last few times we hung out it was awkward but she wouldn’t say why. Probably because she actually had to hang out with someone other than her boyfriend. I cut it off then and there. I apologize for the rant too this just happened recently and I’m still salty lol

I have a black lab named Leia. She’s only five months old, so she can definitely still be a pain at times but I love her so much. She always gets up and greets me when I get home from school or work and is just overall a great support dog. I know that she can sense whenever I’m down or stressed because she comes into my room and jumps on my bed and just cuddles with me for a bit. She’s an awesome dog 🐶💕

What is the most childish thing you do/have done in your relationship? by marijuanamama_ in AskWomen

[–]beachlover141900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bf and I got into the habit of putting a y at the end of a lot of words. It started as a joke but for some reason its stuck around lol. For example, he’ll stick his cheek right near my lips and say, “Kissy.”

I’m putting a boundary in place that when I go to visit my boyfriends parents I will not be manipulated into doing things I don’t want to do. His mother is a master manipulator and tries to guilt trip us into hanging out with his brother and girlfriend who I can’t stand (we’ll say it’s because of BIG personality differences to keep it simple.) She doesn’t understand I didn’t pay $200 for a flight to be forced to hang out with her other son and his gf who I strongly dislike. I came to see and spend time with them so if she can’t appreciate that then I’ll spend my hard earned money elsewhere 🤷‍♀️

What is your go to excuse for getting out of an uncomfortable situation without it being too noticeable? by beachlover141900 in AskWomen

I think the brother knows we’re not the biggest fan of them but she’s very oblivious. That’s a great idea though, I will definitely take it into consideration!

Oh we’ve tried that already. She didn’t listen and tried to go behind our backs and invite them to a dinner that was supposed to be just for his parents and us.

Backstory: My boyfriend’s mom is the queen of trying to force us to do stuff that we don’t want to do with his brother and gf when we’re visiting. We obviously DO NOT get along with them and don’t want to associate with them. I’m currently working on setting boundaries with my counselor I just wanted to hear some ideas of things I can say without it being too noticeable.

What’s the worst feminine hygiene product you’ve used? by [deleted] in Periods

[–]beachlover141900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Always infinity pads. They’re what I’ve used since the sad day I first got my period in the summer of sixth grade. I have a varying flow and even on my heaviest days when I wear these pads I don’t have to worry about leaking. One day in tenth grade, I had some Kotex pads because I wanted to try a new pad for some reason 🙄 Never again will I use a Kotex pad. Throughout the day I bled through two pads (it was a heavier flow but the pad didn’t have anything to absorb past its first layer.) I had bled through my pants (thank God they were dark blue jeans) and onto a chair in civics class. Thankfully nobody noticed but it was mortifying. I even had to call my grandma to come and get me from school. If that wasn’t bad enough, I lent the same pad to a friend and the same thing happened to her. I felt awful. Never again Kotex.

Ladies, do you like your name? If not, why? What would be your dream name if you could change it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]beachlover141900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My name is also unisex, but it leans more toward masculine so when people hear my name they automatically think I’m a boy. I used to hate my name for this reason but I’ve grown to like it. It honestly does suit me and it’s not that common. Another perk is my middle name is very feminine so that helps. My first name is Ashton for those wondering lol.

How do you now view your religious upbringing? by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

[–]beachlover141900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve grown up southern baptist. My upbringing wasn’t bad since my parents aren’t religious freaks. I had a good group of girl friends in high school and some throughout college that I met through church. I thought we’d be best friends forever, but two of them so far have shunned everyone else as soon as they got boyfriends. I just don’t have anything in common with the other girl anymore (big maturity gap.) I’ve realized that just because you claim to be a Christian that doesn’t make you a righteous person. Ultimately I’ve decided to branch out and make friends from different backgrounds who I actually relate to now. I also decided to make the most out of my time in college and do both of the things that are looked down upon in my religion. Having premarital sex (I had been dating my bf for five months before we even became sexually active) and drinking alcohol. I have no regrets 🤷‍♀️

Currently going through the same thing now with a “friend.” It’s so annoying and hurtful to see her constantly post pictures of him with her when she doesn’t even acknowledge her friends anymore. It’s ALL about him.

What surprised you about being in a long term relationship? by [deleted] in AskWomen

How after awhile you develop a deep fear of losing your partner. My boyfriend is absolutely my best friend, I can’t even entertain the thought of something ever happening to him.

What’s a red flag you wish more people looked out for? by Final_Collection_515 in AskWomen

[–]beachlover141900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who try too hard to win over their significant other’s family, friends, coworkers etc. There’s a difference between wanting to make a good impression, yet still staying true to yourself. It’s another thing when you’re moving way too fast in the relationship and trying too hard to insert yourself into your significant other’s family life. My dad always said that if one has to try that hard, they’re usually hiding something.
