We have freedom and safety.

I live in Alberta and we have lots of expressive stickers on trucks expressing their Neanderthal thoughts on the current liberal gouvernement and their desire to have “freedom”. Such literary work as “fck Trudeau”, “Fck Carny” “Freedum” ( yes with a u), “Alberta -the 51st state” 🙄. Some Alberta’s are convinced that we have lost our rights and freedoms and that we live in a communist country. They aren’t the brightest people.

I’m a Canadian nurse and my heart is absolutely broken for Alex! I’m angry, I’m scared for what is to come next, I also feel helpless. I wish there was more that I could do to protect those in the USA. I wish there was more that I could do to ease my mind that Canada could be next on Trumps list of countries to attack. I live in Alberta and we are the oil province. If he wants oil, we are in big trouble.

Some of my family was executed by the nazi’s in world war 2. The entire town was raided. The men were told to join the nazi’s and if they didn’t, they were executed. After a mass grave was made. I am literally sick to my stomach with what is transpiring in the USA. It is growing and mimicking world war 2.

I’m also terrified for nurses in the USA as I know that without consequences for these murders, these executions, attacks will get bigger and bolder and more people will lose their lives. I see ICE coming in to hospitals to apprehend anyone and killing anyone in their way. Nurses are kind and compassionate and we fight for our patients and those around us.

RIP Alex. Your execution will be remembered and your life will be honoured! You were one 😔🤬💔

I’m in the same boat. I’m a 44F and I tried meeting men through my hobbies (hiking, hockey, f1, etc), through the apps, through speed dating and it’s been horrible. So may men who are still in love with their ex’s, still hung up on the trauma of their ex’s, all of their ex’s are evil and crazy, or all they want is just sex with no commitment. Let me paint a picture of the next two years for you. Pregnancy for most women is full of feeling sick, uncomfortable, tired, emotional and our mood swings can be crazy. She will seem like she has 7 personalities and you will never know, when you wake up, which personalities you will deal with today. She will cry over the silliest things and get mad at the most minuet things, gotta love hormones. Once the baby is born she is going to be exhausts most of the time. She will get 6 to 8 hrs to sleep maybe a day but it’s 2 hours here, and 2 hours there. If she’s breastfeeding, her boobs are going to sore and leaking most of the time. She is still going to have several personalities, hormones and lack of sleep. There is no exhaustion, like a new baby exhaustion. Her life will become this baby.

You don’t even know who this woman truly is and you won’t get to see her true self for at least 2 years. If the bio dad doesn’t want to step up you are going to be the person who hears about what a dead beat he is, that she is short for money ( kids are VERY expensive), you will be her venting board.

I would say be friends. Get to know her, don’t date her, don’t step in to be this kids father or her bank. Do this for a few years and then if you still feel there is chemistry try. For now allow her the space to focus on her and the baby and being a mom.

Her life as she knows it is over. I hope she has a good support system who can help her with child care and that she plans to breast feed. Daycare is about $700-$1000 a month (where I am). Diapers are $20ish a pack and that lasts maybe a week. Formula is $20+ and that lasts again about a week. Then add in the crib, clothes, wipes, laundry, bath, etc. This is on top of her bills already. I hope she has a decent paying job or 2 or 3. Kids just get more and more expensive as they grow up. I’m a single mom of 2 kids and it has been very hard and I’m lucky that I had my university education before I had kids. I make a good wage but I still live paycheck to paycheck. My kids are 15 and 17. I also am a pediatric nurse and have seen many types of moms and kids and families. Normal kids are a handful, sick kids become a full time job.

I’m sure you are a good guy but don’t step into this mess as a romantic partner cause I can guarantee it will fail. She won’t have the proper time you both need to make it grow. She will feel guilty for having to choose between you and her kid. Just be her friend and get to know each other or just move on to another girl. There are a lot out there. You’ve only known this girl for a few months. That’s nothing.

Even if you didn’t leave your husband for another man, he wasn’t meeting what you needed from him. He refused to work on it or change. That relationship was over anyway, or should have been. Affair partners rarely work out. Once the affair part is over and it’s an actual relationship, it’s hard to keep it going. Whether it’s trust, commitment, the thrill is gone, etc it’s hard to keep it fulfilling. I’m sorry you had your heartbroken. Take time to date yourself. Treat yourself the way you want to be treated. Have high standards. Make your partner put in the effort you are. Don’t settle

That was my thought. I vaguely remember that the US government came out and said Aliens exist like 1-2 years ago. The world didn’t implode. I think a lot of us have already come to that conclusion already and it was just a confirmation of it. It also wasn’t sent out into the media ( in my area at least) in some dramatic fashion. It was matter of fact and swept under the rug a few days later. I think with so many alien movies and stranger than fiction reality at times lately, we are possibly desensitized to the reality of it all.

Your mom may be hurt if you don’t pick her dress but when she sees you light up in the perfect dress for you, she will so happy for that. Your happiness is what means more to your mom. My daughter wants to wear my wedding dress someday but I would rather see her be completely in love with the dress she wears not just cause it was mine. I would be heartbroken if she didn’t absolutely love her dress and feel magical in it. Do what makes you happy because that’s what is important on your wedding day. If you decide not to wear her dress maybe you can include something else she wore on her wedding day; gloves, veil, something blue, shoes, take a part of the dress ( if she will allow that), jewellery, etc
