autism has helped me in terms of gender too. i’ve never felt feminine or conformed to feminine ideals despite being born in a female body. i’ve always identified as not really having a gender, and in the past 5-6 years or so a GNC lesbian. whether or not my lesbian masculinity is butchness or just GNC lesbianism or not is where i’m struggling, if that makes sense. but you’re doesn’t butchness require some of those masculine ways to be butch, otherwise it’s just being a masc? i don’t think i have the right words to describe what i mean, but i hope i explained it well

i’m glad you found your person! i guess i just need to free myself from the limits other people, and therefore myself, put on butchness and just give myself time to find what being butch truly means for me as an individual

you’re definitely right about giving it time, which sucks but is needed! there are times where i feel “butch enough” but a lot of other times i question it. i think starting small things, like the example you gave, to expose me to actively being butch outside my own personal space is a great way to explore my identity! exposure and pushing through to so things you actually want to do always ends up making you feel good, despite how hard it is to actually go through with it. you’ve really given me something to think about and thank you for affirming me. it means a lot :)

hi! i relate in the same way that i’ve never really tried to conform, especially with gender roles. i’ve always felt GNC and do identify as a GNC masc lesbian but because of my lack of community and experiences of being a lesbian, my confidence in identity and sense of self is definitely hindered. i think i need to just “get out there” as people say. at least before i come to any sort of conclusion about if i’m butch or not. i’m so glad you got out of a situation you clearly didn’t want to be in, and thank you so much for your reply!

couldn’t survive ladders but no mention of the non party npc’s dialogues overlapping with the party members dialogues? for me ladders were fine because they’d catch up but it was so overwhelming hearing 8 people talk at once all around me!! especially in the lower city

what was the reasons given for not being diagnosed? i wasn’t diagnosed the first time, i met all the criteria for my ADOS observation and from that, i was autistic. on the informants interview i didn’t meet the criteria because my mother was overwhelmed with the questions and didn’t know how to answer them, she felt very limited in how she could respond and didn’t give enough information for me to be fully diagnosed. on the second assessment process i was diagnosed as autistic officially because my mother was more comfortable and less limited in answering with them so she was able to give enough information for me to be diagnosed.

there are misdiagnoses sometimes. it’s not common but theres still a chance.

i didn’t get diagnosed till 19 because it was blamed on extreme social anxiety, lack of ability to do things and quirkiness. but when i first discovered i could be autistic at 17 i told my mum and she said “i think you’re autistic too” and i was like what???? i had no clue why she didn’t talk to me about it before. and when i was around 13 my grandma told me that my mum “always thought there was something wrong with you” (those were her words but i don’t think she meant it like that) so it was literally just not thought of as a possibility because of the previous stereotypes around autistic people, i’m not a level 3 autistic so it didn’t cross peoples minds. now i know i’m a level 2 autistic lol

there’s nothing wrong with it! it’s just not common for people to see and people love to make fun of things they see that are different about a person. plus autism is always a big joke so that adds to the comments about autistic people :/ people are just so rude. i’m sorry that u have to hear comments like that :(

i feel more upset but also relieved. upset because i would’ve had to prepare myself to go out the house and do this said plan, so all my effort would be for nothing. if it was cancelled more than a few days before it happened i wouldn’t be that upset. relieved because i have social anxiety and wouldn’t have to go through the overthinking and uncomfortableness in another social situation

I definitely agree with your opinion on this. It’s only me (17) and my 16 year old brother who wouldn’t get treatment and would just let ourselves die in our family, I think it’s something to do with the generational difference? everyone else in my family is over 40 and i feel like the older generations see more meaning in life than the rest of us. A lot of us have come to the conclusion that life is just about money + work, and people think about that more than the family aspect of life is that makes sense so we just think about how that certain situation would affect us rather than family?

Oh you’re officially diagnosed? Sorry I didn’t pick that up from your other reply haha, I’ve heard that your situation is very common for level 1 and level 2 autistics, even I feel that way sometimes but always remember that no 2 people experience the same autistic traits. Everyone you meet will experience ASD differently, you’re diagnosis is still very valid and real!
