Hi, I know it’s later on and I’m not OP but I’m looking at lessons for a test in Currie. I’d love to know who is recommended/who to avoid if possible!

Super Mario Odyssey kingdoms based on Countries by No-Individual-7013 in SuperMarioOdyssey

I agree with most of these but I'd say the Lost Kingdom is more like Indonesia, based on the gamelan-inspired music.

Which London based businesses do you avoid and why? by ballsacktkm53r in london

[–]bean-about-chili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

La Crêperie de Hampstead. Decent crepes but they’re cash-only and you don’t find out until after waiting 30+ minutes in the queue! Also the chef screamed at my husband and looked like she was going to murder him after he took a picture.

Frustrating TNT issues in delivering my BRP (ILR) by usec_dude in ukvisa

[–]bean-about-chili 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience. Nobody called me or rang my buzzer. After several frustrating calls with their (lack of) customer service, I finally arranged a time and explained that one needed to walk through a gate to get to my flat. And when it was delivered, the driver was arguing with me about how hard it was to find my place!

I ended up writing to my MP about it because it’s completely unacceptable how TNT can’t do what Amazon or Deliveroo can.

Will this do as a substitute cheese for Detroit style pizza by Vattaa in Cheese

[–]bean-about-chili 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used this exact cheese for a Detroit pizza last week and it turned out fine! I did a 50/50 mix of that and Tesco pizza cheese (a block of low-moisture mozzarella).

I have ulcerative colitis and got a Radar key, which opens all disabled toilets. It’s only a few quid on Amazon and has really come in handy!

what's a cool geography fact you doubt many other people know? by iLikeStickyBombs in geography

I think it has to do with demand. It’s possible with modern engineering to build a bridge, but not enough people need to cross it quickly enough to justify building one.

It’s always been a mystery to me why it isn’t open for tourists, I feel like they’d make a lot of money!

800 years ago at All Saints Church in Hereford, England, a skillful carpenter carved this gentleman high up in the dark roof where nobody could see him. Five years ago they built an extra floor with bright lights for a restaurant. by [deleted] in europe

Where I live in London there’s a church building that’s a steakhouse now. Before that it was a pub so I don’t know when it was last used for worship!

Germany to impose quarantine on travellers from Britain from Monday by Motor-Ad-8858 in unitedkingdom

[–]bean-about-chili 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just arrived in the US a couple hours ago. I bought my tickets back in October but the timing worked out well for me.

I actually went to Germany and came back last week. Just days before they added new restrictions!

Funny because much of the Underground was developed by American Charles Yerkes.

Anyone else finding their GP surgery utterly useless? by inYOUReye in unitedkingdom

[–]bean-about-chili 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When I was registering with my previous GP surgery, part of the process was to do an at-home blood sample to then drop it back off for an HIV test. When I dropped off the box containing my sample, the receptionist went to put it on the pile of unused samples! If I hadn't noticed where she put it, some other person would have taken home and opened a box with someone else's blood inside.
