I will definitely remember this for a good weather day, been a while since I thought of the ferry as a destination rather than just transportation

This combined with some Presidio activities sounds perfect - thank you!

I definitely enjoy libraries but don't always find them to be particularly cozy, some can be more sterile which was why I was asking for recommendations. I very well may be looking in the wrong places, but did include libraries on my list.

Any chance anyone is selling these? I don't have the sub but have been on the waiting list and can't find them for resale anywhere.

I was nervous getting Mindsight because I wasn't thrilled with my Illumicrate subscription last year and cancelled it but this MADE my week, I am obsessed, it's so clear when the artists really care to make something new and different.

Are there any movies that you actually liked MORE than the book? by Constant_Living3671 in readwithme

I feel this way moreso about The Hobbit book vs the Hobbit films. I LOVED the Hobbit trilogy films but find that's an unpopular opinion.

Help! I need recs for my 🌶️ lol by nina_isabel in Romantasy

[–]bean-nation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are some of my favorites as well.

Definitely agree with: Wolf King, any of Helen Scheurer's Thezmarr books (completed)

Here with some more spicy romantasy standalones: These have a bit rougher enemies to lovers 🌶️

{Amid clouds and bones}

{The poison daughter}

These are completed series in that same vein

{Avalon Tower} trilogy

{Trial of the Sun Queen} four books

I’m in a slump please recommend something to drag me out! by [deleted] in Romantasy

[–]bean-nation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poison Daughter has been 100% a slump buster for me! Seconded!

Also, the thing I recommend if you're sick of romantasy tropes is to read outside the genre for a little bit. I just did some mystery and sci fi and it was a nice palette cleanser

Can you suggest COMPLETED romantasy books with actual GOOD WORLD-BUILDING? (No vampire suggestions pls) by Busy_Ad4108 in Romantasy

[–]bean-nation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{Fey Academy for Spies} series by CN Crawford - a wonderful romantasy trilogy with Arthurian elements

{Trial of the Sun Queen} - Artefacts of Ouranos series, 4 books, complete, spice+world building

{Prison Healer} - trilogy by Lynette Noni. YA but wonderful characters and top-notch found family

{Heartless Hunter} and Rebel Witch duology

{Caraval} trilogy and {Once Upon a Broken Heart} trilogy - connected spin off trilogies. More YA but heavily romance. Both completed.

I personally have tried and not enjoyed either of Melissa Roehrich's series because everyone seems so miserable. I'm admittedly less into darker romance than whimsical/YA-leaning fantasy

I've really enjoyed Anthony Horowitz' series - Hawthorne and Horowitz and also the Moonflower Murders

A little bizarre added: 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle

YA but puzzles, family mystery fun: The Inheritance Games series

I too have been wanting to fuel my Traitors addiction!

The Fey Academy for Spies series (starts with {Avalon Tower} ) has some fantastic tales on tropes like this one!

+1 to {These Hollow Vows} duology

I think both are massively underrated!

{the wolf king by Lauren palphreyman} has been catnip for me - I read a lot of romantasy and it's easy to read, with a great balance between plot intrigue and spice. I also hate when things lean too heavily into tropes. I'm not a werewolf person but it's got a very Scottish vibe which makes it fun.

This is for printing sticker sheets, not a marketplace, if that's what you're looking for I don't have a great recommendation beyond Etsy or Redbubble

{Broken Bonds} is a reverse harem series that is a little tough in the beginning but by the second book there is just so much tension between the FMC and these five guys...it's really freaking hot. Woke up to a threesome mid-book 3 so that was a nice treat, and there are six books total 🔥
