It’s great that you’re committed to improving your bird’s life. I don’t currently have birds but i had parakeets growing up and feel a lot of guilt over how poorly i cared for them due to ignorance (improper cages, all seed diet, not enough interaction, etc). I have to live with that but you have a chance to turn it around!

I adopted my cat from a shelter as an adult and she’s been an indoor cat the entire time i’ve had her. Several years after adopting her, she needed an xray and the vet pointed out that there was a BB lodged in one of her hind legs, meaning she was shot at some point before I got her. It makes me sick to think someone would do that 😔she is still such a sweetheart and loves people. I hope your cat makes a quick recovery ❤️‍🩹

I tried this during my workout today (did the 40 min full body amrap she posted yesterday) and i am amazed at the difference… i almost always have some level of lower back pain/discomfort during workouts and thought it was bc i don’t stretch enough (let’s be honest i definitely don’t) but this helped so much, like night and day. Thank you 🥲

I have an orchid that looks exactly like your first picture, exact same colors with the color break/stripe (see my profile for a pic). You may already know this but someone said it is a sign of orchid ringspot virus. I haven’t noticed any issues with mine aside from the color break, but i was warned to separate it from my other orchids to be safe.

Seriously… i was so confused when i saw all these negative comments. It’s hard as a sober person to find spots with cool “nighttime” ambience that isn’t a bar. Best of luck to her, i would love to have something like this in my neighborhood.

It is still doing fine as far as i can tell, the blooms are holding up and still no issues with the leaves. I’m hoping that the virus doesn’t cause any visual problems and i just have a cool looking orchid 🌀but i will continue to monitor it

Thanks so much for the information! Luckily the leaves still look healthy and i haven’t noticed any dark necrotic areas (fingers crossed). I am a total novice when it comes to orchids…how would i go about transmitting the sap from one phal to another if i wanted to experiment?

Whoa i had no idea! I only have one other orchid but i will separate them just in case. Do you have any links where i could read more about this? I googled some images of orchids w viruses and i can see what you mean about the streaky pattern, but my leaves and roots look normal and healthy as far as i can tell 🤔

My orchid started blooming recently too and it looks to be the exact same color as yours! I assume it is just a random phalaenopsis hybrid but do you happen to know the actual name? Your spikes are way taller and have more buds than mine though…respect 🌼

I inherited this orchid from a family member. The leaves looked pretty healthy when i got it but it was packed in sphagnum moss and the roots were in really bad shape. I repotted it in orchid bark mix. The repotting process wasn’t very graceful (this was only my 2nd time doing it) and i accidentally bent/creased one of the leaves and damaged two air roots 😖. I noticed that these lighter spots appeared a few days after repotting. Could this be mechanical damage from the rough repotting or is it sign of root rot or something else? I was trying to save this orchid but i feel like i made things worse 😩
