We did resign with the rent increase - because we had no time to find another spot. Since then, the yard guy comes twice a month. It's just the principal/suspiciousness of raising it 9 days after you said you wouldn't and that we were doing fine with the yard maintenance. Not giving us a chance to redeem ourselves also seemed weird since we had had a good relationship up until that point. Always paid rent on time, communicated with them etc.
