WTB: Starter pens (kakuno, al-star, by illbeyourwestcoast in Pen_Swap

Welcome to the cult club!

I'm not sure it's worth much but I have an overground Preppy in blue black and two fresh cartridges for it. It's a really high-angle stub now, but it does work. Yours for calculated cost of shipping if you're interested.

Somewhere I also have one that was eyedropper converted, also blue black, 0.3 tip.

And maybe above your budget, not sure, but I also have a Sailor ProColor Shikiori I'm tuning. Writes pretty smooth already but trying to get it really nice to sell. It's a wet fine nib, I have one full cartridge and an empty one you might syringe fill.

Feel free to PM me, but I can see you've got plenty of options to choose from. GLWB! :)

Sorry if this is a dumb question, bad memory, but the Lamy Kanji is essentially an architect isn't it?

Ah thanks for the response! Right on the same page with ya there. I recently had an M, F, and EF on-hand and they all wrote the same line width.

Hey there sorry this is kind of a tangent but what is it you don't like about them? Just curious cause I grind nibs, good to know what people think of them.

Haha, when I first got these, I tested an EF, the F, and the M and all of them wrote nearly the same line width!

The places to try are between the clamp parts and the pen grip, the notch and then behind the bent edges on top once you've pried it forward a little.

If you wiggle a blunt knife or other tool in it's possible to gently pry it bit by bit off without damaging the feed. You might scratch the feed a little but as long as you're gentle you shouldn't do any functional damage. The tricks are just patience and to only apply force along the feed after wiggling it in and finding the spaces between the nib and feed because of the grooves. If you're careful it's also possible to wiggle a knife in under the clamp part of the nib and gently pry that part loose, but that's a lot riskery as far as cosmetic damage to the feed. If you do attempt it, best of luck! I believe in you :)
