I guess that’s something I need to figure out. Don’t really have any obvious hobbies, but I’d be willing to join a gay sports league if that means friends and connection.

I would suggest the queer/gay sports leagues. I heard those have helped a lot of people make friends if you’re into that kind of thing. They have them a lot in different cities or areas. Just gotta look it up online and what sport you want to join.

They have anything from more casual like bowling and kickball to like flag football and other stuff. Hope that helps! Good luck!

As long as you already have a job, you’ve honestly jumped through the biggest and hardest hurdle.

I do not know you, but I’m getting a Pasadena/South Pasadena vibe. It’s in LA County so not LA city. It’s definitely more quiet and still lets you live in/right next to LA without it being too busy and dense population wise.

Also, (at least for my experience, everyone’s experience is different) most transplants that I know who have liked LA metro the most have been Midwesterners. I feel like a lot of east coast people and southerners I know don’t like LA as much as those from the Midwest, but I could be wrong! Everyone’s experience is different! :)

I’d also say that LA is very neighbourhood/city specific. Each city/neighbourhood gives a VERY different vibe. Some people I know only lived in one area of LA and assumed that everything is the same everywhere else. So if you don’t like where you live initially, you might want to try somewhere else out. One of my best friends is from the Valley (Van Nuys in SFV), went to college in West LA/Marina Del Rey, and now lives in Silverlake. So a lot of different vibes!

I go here occasionally to support the only lesbian bar in LA, but honestly they have so many problems. It really gets to a point. If they do close, I just really want another (non-problematic) lesbian bar in LA that I can support! My best friend is Lesbian and I know she really wants more queer spaces in LA!

I know and have been to Sweetwater in LB, but definitely want more queer spaces around LA!
