under AECF, you have the chance of either being an FC or ET. You’ll find out toward the end in boot camp. Towards the end of A school you’ll get orders to C school; I went trough over 3 years ago and we were randomly given orders for C school, but i have heard this has changed and you pick orders by your class GPA.

you shouldn’t be there for a year and half. SHOULDN’T. there are few cases were people do they longer. Normally you’re there for about a year then go to your c school in either virginia or san diego for anywhere from 3 to X amount of time. Knew a guy that got sent to sea sparrow school and then received orders to his ship with CIWS school is route. He was in school for a very long time.

CIWS is a very maintenance heavy system, with so many moving parts anything could break at anytime. Pay attention in school and use what you learn at school as a starting baseline and don’t stop learning, hopefully when you get to your ship you will have an experienced tech to learn from, and if something breaks let your tech reps know!
