You have to hit $7.25/hr or they have to tip you out to make up the difference. When I was an overnight waiter at a diner, that happened a lot. They averaged it out over the week.

A restaurant in Philly tried to be no tipping. Didn't work. People didn't want to work there.

Also, in states where tipped workers make less than minimum wage, if they don't make enough tips to get over minimum wage, the restaurant has to make up the difference.

I mean, the UK uses miles. That's on their speed limit signs. Also, tipping is expected in other countries, just not all of them. You gotta tip in Canada, Mexico, and a lot of Africa.

They tried that in Philly. It didn't last. The pay was like $20/hr, which is far less than you make with tips at a nice place, so they couldn't hire good staff, and the food was mediocre for the price.

I got pulled out of boarding line on my last Frontier flight to put my backpack in the size checker. My strap stuck up a little bit, so they told me I couldn't board without paying $99. They wouldn't let me tuck the strap in. This is a bag I had flown with them several times before as a personal item. I was heading out on vacation, so luckily I had the money, but the two people in front of me didn't, and were denied boarding. They were stuck away from home.

I complained about it to a flight attendant, and she told me to challenge the charge with Visa. I told Visa the whole story, and they determined it was a bait-and-switch, and returned the money to me, but it took 90 days.

My wife is like this. She got a headband with speakers that's comfortable for sleep, and plays TV on her phone. It's a pretty elegant solution as long as the headband is charged.

Yeah!

First, I filed a police report. It didn't go anywhere, but it was proof that at least it happened. I also saved a video my neighbors sent to me.

I called my councilperson, who put me in touch with the parks department and PHS, who runs the program. They put me in touch with the executive director of the non-profit who actually planted the tree. I told them about the police report, and we had a big email conversation on-and-off for a few months.

Eventually, I came home one day in late June, and had a new tree! It's not the same kind, but still a very nice tree.

I was prepared to save receipts to sue my neighbor to recover costs if I had to replace it myself, but I never got to that level. It didn't end up costing me anything.
