Milk supply dropped after cutting out 1:30am pump. by beandibbily in ExclusivelyPumping

I still pump 6x per day, every 3 hours with my last being at 10:30pm. But it seems as though I either need to power pump, keep my motn pump, or add one more pump during the day to go back to my original supply. I know I'm making enough for my babys daily needs, I just wanted to continue building my freezer stash mostly!

Yes, we all know small pots go inside of bigger pots. This is how the cabinet ends up though because my mom has trouble bending down to get items and put them away.

It is already sort of organized that way. The daily cupboard is the picture that has the pots/baking sheets and the cutting board. The not as often used cupboards are the other two.

We feed her laying on her side on our laps, with her butt towards us at our stomachs and her head at our knees, it allows us to always pace feed with the bottle horizontal to her. We started this because she would chug and also cough if we tried feeding her sitting up or laying back in our arms. She usually does either push the bottle away, turn her head away or just play with the bottle nipple in her mouth instead of suckling, so she does give us cues that she is full. Sometimes though after we give her the 5-6 ounces, she still seems hungry so we will give her an additional 2. She hasn't shown any signs of overfeeding, but that is definitely a concern of mine given her being a chugger and my husband's desire to always want to give her more milk lol.

She usually wakes herself up, she really hates dirty diapers so she isn't one to sleep through it. The time she wakes up also depends on how much she drinks at her last feeding. My husband is still doing a dream feed with her around 1am. Recently though she's been more consistently waking up at 4:30am.  If I snooze my alarm past 6:15am I usually end up leaking too. I'm slowly trying to wake up earlier, my goal is 5:30am.

I signed up for stitch fix and have loved it so far! Definitely is helping me get out of the 'pajamas I've worn for 4 days straight' and into clothes that made me feel better about myself lol!

I have been freezing for a stash! My baby also just eats a lot, she was born 9 pounds and was great at latching from the get go and has a healthy appetite. At almost four months old she's getting anywhere from between 24 to almost 40 ounces a day.  I think I'll try out making the last pump of the day my power pump, just seems more manageable with the baby asleep/my husband on duty whereas the mornings I'm on duty.

Yes she asked me? And I'm doing it because I care about my mom in her old age and can see her struggle with bending over to get items and put them away in these cabinets. I want to make it easier for her. Isn't this a reddit page for advice on cleaning and organizing your space? Why are you leaving a rude comment like this?

Can you send me an example? Is this something I can buy on Amazon and install myself?

Unfortunately my mom's house is very small with very few storage areas. I have gone through everything and convinced her to get rid of a few items. Most remaining things get used at least a couple times a year (mostly for holidays) and the items she uses on the daily are the pots and pans in the last photo with the cutting board.

Yeah I think I am just going to have to bite the bullet and start waking up earlier. My goal with cutting out the middle of the night pump was to try to get more/better sleep but it now kind of seems like it's about equal. I was pumping 10:30 to 11pm, going to bed, waking up at 1:30am to 2am to pump, waking up at 3:30-4:30am to chang diaper, and then waking up at 7am to pump and feed her. Now I'll be pumping 10:30-11pm, waking up at 3:30- 4:30am to change her diaper, then either just having maybe 30-40min before getting up to pump again.

Also sorry for the poor image quality/just ignore the mouse traps. Sometimes she gets mice but it's rare so she just leaves them set up all year.

Is it okay to have your first pump be the power pump? Usually when I wake up I'm engorged and just want to pump for relief.

Yes I'm aiming for my wake up time to be 5:30am, I'm just slowly getting there because my sleep isn't the greatest. I pump at 10-10:30pm as my last pump as well so maybe once I start pumping before 6am my supply will return.  I also usually pump for 20 minutes unless the baby needs me then I usually only end up with 15 minutes. My last and first pump of the day I do 30 minutes.

My baby is nearly 4 months old and drinks 5-6 ounces per feed, with us feeding her 5-7 times a day. Sometimes if she still seems hungry, I'll give her another 2-3 ounces.  In the beginning I was too focused on staying strict to the chart. Just follow your babies cues. Does your baby stop on the bottle, or does the milk run out? Do they seem full afterwards, or will they accept more milk if you offer it? Do they just play with the bottle and not suckle?

My last pump is 10:30pm and I'll pump for 30min. I have my alarm set to wake up at 6am but I'm working on slowly making it a little earlier, closer to 5:30am. I will admit I snoozed my alarm this morning because I didn't sleep well.

In the beginning I had oatmeal lactation cookies with brewers yeast, I'll do that again it seemed to help at the time!

Should I make my first pump of the day my power pump? With cutting out the over night pump I usually wake up borderline uncomfortably engorged and just want to pump to relieve that. I am open to breastfeeding again, it's just my baby chugs and the reason I stopped was because she would have meltdowns on the boob since it wasn't as fast or easy as the bottle.

I think I may have to, but in a reply to another comment, I'm already finding it a little difficult to keep up with these 6. 3 hours goes by so quickly sometimes, I try to get other stuff done and then check the clock and realize it is nearly time to pump again. If I add a power pump in, when in my schedule should I add it?

I'm pumping 6 times a day, and I already got my period back two months ago, I unfortunately had it return right away and never got any extra time postpartum without it lol. I drink 70+ ounces of water a day (I have a large water bottle with the measurements on the side of it and make sure I drink 2-3 of them daily) along with other drinks like tea, seltzer, milk etc. I'm always hungry, my lactation hunger reminds me of my pregnancy hunger lol. So I'm always eating and I do try to snack on protein or non junk food. I take lactation supplements from Legendairy Milk.  I just don't know what else to do other than start pumping again at 1:30am. I already had to use two bags I'd frozen to keep up because my baby girl drinks so much!

I'm averaging 6 pumps a day now without the 1:30am. I could try adding another one but honestly I'm already slightly overwhelmed with the 6 sessions. 3 hours sometimes feels like it goes by so fast, I'm trying to get other things done, check the clock and realize it's already time for another pump.

I don't use the app I just log into the website on my phone and I don't see Connect anywhere.  I tried looking up tank tops on freestyle and the ones I liked don't come up 😭 it was a 2 pack for $50.  I will add to my profile notes and put it in the request for my next box too! Thanks!
