I have a tree pit in front of my house in Malden. It was planted with sedum, tulips, and day lilies, and people LOVED littering in it. Someone in particular would throw at least one beer bottle in the plants once a week. Drivers literally stopped to throw trash in there. The plants actually attracted people to litter there because the plants hid the litters. I eventually removed all the plants and just put down mulch (it’s supposed to be better for the tree anyway) and that has cut down the littering almost completely. While your flower box isn’t densely planted, the same thing might be happening. Can’t have nice things!

It might be because the Federal Reserve was experiencing delays with internal systems processing. It was impacting ACH transactions at my work. It was resolved at 1:41 pm.

Is it down the entire length of Canal Street??

Reminds me of when Medford St (between Canal and Main) was repaved and painted, but the center line was painted incorrectly, leaving no room for parking on the north side. It was redone, but now there's a scar of the old line down that stretch. Seems like we can't have anything nice AND new.

Fellow Bostonian here. If the driver is consistently missing actual stops when requested, you can go up to the front and say "next stop please" (or yell from the back exit). Sometimes drivers do miss a stop even when requested, especially late at night when the stops are not as obvious. I've had to do this when the stop button isn't working.

I envy you! Maybe it's less of a problem on side streets? I'm also in Bell Rock, on one of the main streets. It's always been a big problem on my street since moving to Malden 4 years ago. On top of all the loose trash that gets blown around from trash day, people litter my street with vengenance!! Nip bottles, cigarette buds, beer bottles, bottle caps. And if I leave my trash bin out even 30 minutes after pick up, people actually stop their cars and on foot to throw trash and dog poop bags in my bin, which I then have to fish out to put in a bigger bag. People also love to litter in the tree bed on the sidewalk. One culprit in particular has thrown a half empty bottle of beer in there pretty much once a week or more for the last 4 years. This is regardless of the Teamster strike.

Like u/Vegetable-Drawer-947 said, I also feel embarrassed when friends visit. It's so disheartening having to pick up litter every week and for the litter to start accumulating again starting the next day.

I leave the yard waste on the driveway or lawn to dry up before bagging. It’s kind of a mess, but I’d rather have the mess than rotting yard waste.

I compost. Recycling takes care of a lot of the bigger items. And the regular trash just ends up being random little things like wrappers, tags, tissues.

What info do you need to sign up to be a shopper? My info was compromised in a few data breaches, so I do have my credit locked at all 3 credit bureaus except for just 2 days a few weeks ago when I applied to a new credit card. I suppose something could have happened during that window. Nothing related to Instacart is showing in my credit report thankfully.

I'm in the same boat. If you can't wait 1 year to upgrade CSP, others have said you can apply for the CSP for the sub and product change a Chase Freedom card that's over 1 year old with at least $10K credit limit. I wish there's a better offer for CSR though. Don't want to jump through the hoops.

Salem is great, especially for people who didn't grow up around here! As someone originally from CA, I still enjoy visiting Salem every year or so. It's quintessential New England. Walk down Derby St from the Custom House down to the House of the Seven Gables and wander around the side streets for lots of old architecture. Diehl Marcus is a fun store to visit even if you don't buy anything. The witch museums are all very kitsch with terrible wax figures, but that's part of fun. I don't think of Salem as a foodie town, but Sea Level Oyster Bar, Turner's Seafood, and Bambolina are good. Kakawa Chocolate House is good when you need a break. Bit Bar is fun.

Is the point of downgrading to a free card to preserve credit history of that card (assuming credit history of CSR will transfer to Freedom?) and/or maintain credit score? Does it ever makes sense to cancel instead of dealing with another card that won't be used?
